3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Doppelganger (1385) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - SEP 10, 2009Bottle, from John’s Grocery, shared with Traci and Matt. Copper/gold, good cap of fine white bubbles. Gentle caramel, vanilla and cinnamon nose, touch of soft oak. Raisin sweetness, piney resiny bitterness. Lingering bubblegum spice. Pleasant, but not quite as cohesive as it could be.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 allmyvinyl (130) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 18, 2013
33cl bottle from Appellation Wines, cheers Ash! Totally the wrong time of year for the beer, sun was shining... sky was blue... and this smelled of Christmas. Aromas were big and boozy fruit cake and mixed spice, but I found this didn’t follow through and deliver the big flavours I was expecting form the aroma. Surprisingly well balanced and not the sweet finish I was (kind of) looking for. Still, a very interesting brew from a very interesting brewery.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 AshtonMcCobb (1490) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 18, 2013
33cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours amber with a lovely red/orange hue. The nose has cake mixture, then going into cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is of more cinnamon and nutmeg but the dominant taste is more of treacle sponge pudding. The palate is medium bodied with creamy but tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall, a nice but even more interesting, beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 adamah (88) - - JUN 2, 2013
Lots of spice comes through on the nose, coriander, cinnamon, vanilla. Pours orange with lots of white head. Tastes fairly sweet with some nice lingery spice on the end. Medium bodied and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Overall fairly good.

Tap @ Black Bottle Fort Collins. Pours a bit hazy dark orange appearance with a tan head. Quite spicy, citrus peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, fairly sweet aroma. Fairly full bodied. Candied orange, cinnamon, coriander, zesty spicy flavor. A lot of spice going on. Overall not bad.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ajnepple (577) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 16, 2013
On tap at Black Bottle Brewery. Amber and clear with a white head. The aroma is bready malts, citrus fruit, sweet spices, and light vanilla. Similar flavor with light cinnamon and wheat malts. Medium bodied and smooth feel that hides the alcohol. Not too bad Japan.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 boto (1665) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAY 4, 2013
330ml bottle: 2011 version. This one pours a hazy amber color. There was almost no head on it, and what was there was off-white. This one has a really nice nose. Definitely spicy, with coriander at the top of the list. A bit peppery too. The taste very good. Peppery and coriander notes on top of a malty brew. There is a slight tartness and bitterness to the taste. Definitely some fruity notes, and very complex. A really nice brew.
4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 NeoHippie2 (474) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 4, 2013
The first thing I noticed about this beer was the aroma. Notes of vanilla, orange peel, and cinnamon. It smells amazing. The taste is a bit muted compared to the aroma but still impressive. Really complex, respectable brew. So much going on, definitely worth a try.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ddemmingjr (597) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bottle labeled Commemorative Ale. Pours like an opaque orange barley wine with no head. Lemon citrus, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, herbal maltness on the nose. Dank hops, some stale malt characterics, vanilla sweetness, bread, loads of citrus as well. Unique to say the least but not something I'd drink a ton of though I enjoyed this one.
