3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, from John’s Grocery, shared with Traci and Matt. Copper/gold, good cap of fine white bubbles. Gentle caramel, vanilla and cinnamon nose, touch of soft oak. Raisin sweetness, piney resiny bitterness. Lingering bubblegum spice. Pleasant, but not quite as cohesive as it could be.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Amber pour, off white head. Tap at Angels Trumpet. Super malty and sweet. Almost cloying. But the abundance of malt flavor isn’t welcomed.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
from notes: I think the vanilla beans make this beer. What would have been a slightly better than average spiced ale becomes something odd, but tasty, and of a high level of complexity. Quite nice, though maybe still a one timer."

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home. Hazy brown amber with minimal head. Looks like apple cider. Aroma of orange, cinnamon, sherry, raisins. Full bodied, aggressively sweet, dried fruits, fruit compote, citrus peel. Dry finish. Could be classified as a barley wine.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle @ Patricks as Commemorative Ale. Clear amber body with a medium sized white head. Aroma feels like sweet malt, dry fruit, some caramel and spices. Flavor is sweet malt, dry fruit, brown sugar, and spices, relatively bitter and warming alcohol. Full body and long, sweet aftertaste with dry fruit. A bit unusually but nice.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a simply gorgeous deep amber with light head but good lacing. In the mouth, it has all the winter flavours one would want, except this was released in Texas in July! Never mind, it’s tasty.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Sunday's Grocery at Jay's. Super malty aroma with an herbed sweet potato smell. Taste is similar - tastes like food, not in the usual salty/savory way that some beer can. More herbs and, again, sweet potato. Odd, but not offensive. Wouldn't get again though I don't think.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Smells very malty, a bit raisiny/vegetal. Musty and sweet/thick like cough syrup. Tastes malty, a bit of spice, sweet and fizzy, almost like a musty carbonated orange juice. Lots of flavour but too much unbalanced sweet/vegetal flavour for me.

This bottle was named Commemorative Ale 2013 and 8% abv sold at a central market in austin, tx. The real description is the same as the commercial description, and its good though a bit of a more desert-like beer.
