3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
2010 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a huge, creamy beige head. Aroma is full of sweet bread spice and citrus zest, some fruity esters and light soapy notes. Flavor is big on coriander and cinamon up front, dusty grain, sweet malt, some orange peel, but it is not nearly as citrusy in taste as it is in aroma, a hint of vanilla and nice earthy nutmeg to the finish. Medium body, with a slick slightly booozy entry, small bubbled, but very blanketing and sharp carbonation. After blowing off all that foam, I’m suprised that this had any carbonation left at all but it is actually rather harsh. Fairly tasty brew, the mouthfeel is not so great, but it has a really nice finish and aftertaste with, sweet bread spice and vanilla.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a simply gorgeous deep amber with light head but good lacing. In the mouth, it has all the winter flavours one would want, except this was released in Texas in July! Never mind, it’s tasty.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Sunday's Grocery at Jay's. Super malty aroma with an herbed sweet potato smell. Taste is similar - tastes like food, not in the usual salty/savory way that some beer can. More herbs and, again, sweet potato. Odd, but not offensive. Wouldn't get again though I don't think.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Smells very malty, a bit raisiny/vegetal. Musty and sweet/thick like cough syrup. Tastes malty, a bit of spice, sweet and fizzy, almost like a musty carbonated orange juice. Lots of flavour but too much unbalanced sweet/vegetal flavour for me.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

Rating #1034 - March 22, 2014 - Pregaming for Oilers at Chateau Gab with some Japanese #geekbeer. Slight carbonated head burbles from a brown black pour. Lots of herbal-spicy aroma here - spruce needles, clove, burnt sugar, toasted fennel, rosemary, cardamom. Palate is light citrus from the spruce needles, more sweet notes from the fennel and roast malts, delicate bitterness. Really quite tasty.

330ml bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 04-06-2014.
In short: a spicy ale.
Pours some hazy amber with frothy off white head. Moderate head retentio, poor lacing. Spicy aromas, lots of them. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste folows the nose, medium bitterness, malty, caramel and then lots of spices: coriander, cinnamon, etc. Maybe a bit saturating.
