Full bodied beer with sweet wheat flavor and beautiful dense foam top. It has a pleasant bitterness and unique spicy aroma with Orange Peel, Coriander, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Vanilla Beans. Complex yet soothing.

2010 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a huge, creamy beige head. Aroma is full of sweet bread spice and citrus zest, some fruity esters and light soapy notes. Flavor is big on coriander and cinamon up front, dusty grain, sweet malt, some orange peel, but it is not nearly as citrusy in taste as it is in aroma, a hint of vanilla and nice earthy nutmeg to the finish. Medium body, with a slick slightly booozy entry, small bubbled, but very blanketing and sharp carbonation. After blowing off all that foam, I’m suprised that this had any carbonation left at all but it is actually rather harsh. Fairly tasty brew, the mouthfeel is not so great, but it has a really nice finish and aftertaste with, sweet bread spice and vanilla.

As "Hitachino Commemorative Ale 2014".
330 ml bottle thanks to Ingo! Brewed 12-2013, BB 12-2014, sampled on April 18, 2014. Marked 8% ABV.
Hazy copper color, big lasting off-white head. Sweet, spicy, orange peel, citrus, alcohol, light phenolic scent. Alcohol, sweet, citrus, sugary, pine, spicy taste. Sweet, alcohol aftertaste. Medium to smooth to fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Alcohol comes through a bit too much, more than noticeable and also dominates the sweetness, probably would’ve liked it better personally with a bigger malt body or a lower ABV, still, not bad at all, just coul’ve been even better (for me).

Bottle - hazy brown colour with a slim off-white head. Spicey malty vanilla aroma. Flavours are spicey orange peel, marmalade, malts, fruity, sweet, bitter, alcohol. Interesting but don’t like the texture, finding it hard to get down.

330ml bottle from Hasegawa Liquor Store, Tokyo Railway Station. Bought as Commemorative Ale 8% abv. Cloudy medium brown with a reddish tinge. Flowery yeasty spicy aroma. Sweet honey and spice flavour. Sharp with slightly sickly sweet alcohol aftertaste. A bit unbalanced and not really my sort of beer.
