Tap pours hazy deep gold with creamy light tan off white head. Excellent lace. Aromas of rice, sweet crystal toasty malts, near pine citrus but overall floral hop notes a touch tartly sour. Light medium body, med soft carbonation. Finishes lightly sweet and tart. Balanced sweet sour and hoppy.

maekchu (1762) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 24, 2014
Bottle from Seijo Ishi store in Kuzuha Mall. Grainy, rich caramel nose, with fruit blossoms. Copperish amber color. Solid well-balanced initial, got the real Burton-onTrent thing going on, with strong malty overtones throughout. Thin-medium body. Very tasty initial flavors, smooth and balanced overall. Flavors flatten out quickly in finish.

Bottle - slightly hazy reddish amber colour with slim white head. Balanced aroma of ligh hops and malts. Interesting flavour, malts dominate but don’t have all their way, nice hoppy notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Nice, drinkable pale ale.

From bottle in Tokyo, pours a clear dark amber with a very slight yellowish head. Aroma is fruits and caramel. Taste is fruits, caramel, mildly bitter, and dry. Finish is dry. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. A solid beer; not a standout, but well worth drinking and enjoyable.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a small white head. Earthy hop, straw and spice in the nose. Malt driven flavour with a slight metallic tang which lets it it down. Dried out towards the finish. A bit ho hum.. Loving the Owl though....

Clear amber red colour, fluffy white head. Aroma - nice balance of english hops and the just right amount of crystal malt. A litlle berry fruits. Taste - Soft citrus notes and subtle toffee flavor in equal measure. Great balance to this beer. Could enjoy a couple of these.

330ml bottle. Pours cloudy copper with little to no head. Nice fruity aroma. Flavours are similarly fruity, quite sweet with a good malt backbone. Falls a little flat at the back, could do with a more robust finish, a bit more bitterness. The hops seem a little hidden, but still a very nice beer.
