COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dose of fresh ginger roots added to the brewkettle creates an intriguing mix of ginger, malt-sweetness , and citruslike aromas and flavors Hoppy dryness is very subdued with ginger-sweet-spicey notes dominating throughout to the very finish.

Smell is a sour ginger root presence. Deep, murky orange/copper with persistant foam. Very sour in taste with moderate ginger characteristics. Some other notes of caramel, honey and citrus are also present. Overall, it is a unique Japanese creation. A tad too sour for me but A rating for creativity.

Decent, but not quite what I was expecting. Pours a copper hue with minimal head. Aroma of malt and ginger. Taste is herbal with some ginger notes but it is earthier than I thought it would be. All the same, crisp and refreshing. Seems like it would go well with food.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Interesting beer and tasty at first but turns into ginger overload very quickly. I'd split this with someone. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($5.25): Pours a slightly amber red color with a very small head and no lacing. Aroma is licorice, ginger, sweet and sour sauce, and a hint of liqueur. Taste is sweet throughout, but lets the spice, especially the weird ginger hit make itself more manifest toward the middle and end. The ginger adds a tinge to the momentary hoppy bitterness. Funky little aftertaste. Not really my thing. Probably too sweet.

It pours a clear light amber and shows the same color body. A one inch puffy and foamy white head appears and gently dies to a centimeter that lasts for a good bit. Speckles are seen on the inside floating around (assuming that’s the ground ginger root). Bubbles gently drift and look like they are dodging the ginger root, interesting, this is really interesting stuff. The smell has the ginger in front with some nice hops slightly in the background. The taste is sweet yet spicy with the ginger and hops mixing with some light malts. The palate is about light to medium with some harshness on the tongue most likely due to the ginger. This is extremely drinkable. Overall, this is a good ginger beer with real ginger in it. I’d have it again.

Bottle. Pours a red copper color with a small off-white head. Spice and ginger aroma with heavy ginger flavor and sweet and caramel notes. Medium body with a spicy ginger finish.

Ginger is not a spice I typical look for in a drink, much less a beer, but this is a very well done spiced beer. Dry, so the ginger isn’t accentuated by a sugary flavor. Ginger comes out in the aroma and strongly in the flavor. Strangely well balanced though. If it weren’t so expensive, I would try this more often.

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a deep mahogany body with a small white head. Aroma is fresh ginger and nutty nougat tones, with hints of lemongrass and licorice. Smooth. Taste is nutty caramel and nougat tones, hints of ginger and candy sugar. OK. Slight ginger burn in the aftertaste, with some alcohol to go. Medium body, mild carbonation. A rather mildly tasting yet strong ginger ale. I like it. And it has an awesome label. :-)

Bottle. Pours a very cloudy reddish amber with a fairly small head. Ginger dominates both the smell and taste of this - and this is not a flavor I really care for. Too much ginger for my taste.
