A dose of fresh ginger roots added to the brewkettle creates an intriguing mix of ginger, malt-sweetness , and citruslike aromas and flavors Hoppy dryness is very subdued with ginger-sweet-spicey notes dominating throughout to the very finish.

Bottle 330ml. Hazy copper with beige head. Light aroma of ginger and flowers. Sweetish and sour flavor with lots of ginger, soapy with some graininess, harsh ginger bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

Bottle 11,2 fl.oz from Bier-Bienne (CH). Reddish brown with a huge ochre foam. Appetizing perfumes of malt, caramel, ginger. Just like the taste, syrupy, unctuous, powerful with candied ginger, spices, toffy-honey and earthy-citrusy hop. A little soda like but betrayer.

Unexpectedly malty, sweet, ginger spiced aroma with a rich, almost honey-like quality. Clear with a darker than expected reddish-brown hue and yellowish head. Particularly nice colour. Very, rounded flavour balancing soft, yet rich malt with light spice, masking the alcohol very well. Slight banana coming through also which complements toffee flavours produced by the malt. The spice isnít very obviously ginger though, itís more just sort of general spice which doesnít give the clean effect Iím really looking for. Smooth and soft texture with a light, fuzzy carbonation. I wouldíve expected the carbonation to be a bit higher and crisper and whilst I normally love softness in a beer, I think the flavours here mightíve benefited from a crisper, harder feel. Overall though a great beer to experience. It isnít the refreshing type of ginger beer which I was kind of expecting and is instead much thicker and íchewierí. It has itís place and is certainly well-made but the general íspice additioní flavour doesnít tend to go down so well with me as I sense it as a bit artificial. Perhaps it is the particular preparation of ginger doing this but as a spiced beer in itís own right, itís still very enjoyable.

Appearance: cloudy medium amber with one finger of medium dense light beige head, good retention and patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: caramel malt, citrus, mild ginger, mild mixed spices. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, mild bitter and lightly spicy finish. (3/5) I just realized what this reminds me of: pumpkin beer. Oh, and American Strong Ale. I mean, yeah, I get the ginger - eventually - but it takes a seat right at the very back of this bus. This is nothing like your typical Jamaican-style ginger beers. In fact, it sort of reminds me of Arrogant Bastard. With a shot of pumpkin spice. (13/20)

33 cl, bottle conditioned. Unfiltered with a merky appearance, thin tan head, low carbonation. Smells like fruit-cake, caramel and, of course, ginger. Medium carbonation, slightly dry mouthfeel. Taste is full of herbs and spices, sweet caramel, honey/fruit-cake and a nice ginger note at the back. The ginger is nicely blended in, and donít bring you the kind of ginger-kick you can get from a saison sometimes. Interesting beer, but one bottle is enough for me.

Blind tasted. Interesting and silly results. Clear deep amber, creamy head is off-white, bit lacing. Aroma has caramel, dried fruits and sausage? (Yup... I missed ginger), malt. Medium body, bit sticky feel, low carbonation, medium long finish is dry. Interestin aroma, malty. And finishing note when blindfold opened: one of better ginger beers when maltyness bit covers ginger. Ofc it was obviously there once I knew it is there. Silly me.

from Erzbierschof - murky copper-orange beer under a creamy beige foam; fairly expressive aroma of earth, ginger and citrus; creamy palate, sweet and bitter; full-bodied; grainy, earthy and long gingery finish with lingering citrusy notes - ok

Aroma - ginger, alcohol, caramel malt, and spice. Appearance - sepia colored body, cloudy, and unfiltered. The head is about 1/8" and white, and quickly rings out. Taste - big ginger of course, some other spice like nutmeg and clove. Caramel malt stands under the spice. Palate - the body is medium, carbonation is flat, the finish spiced.
