It pours a clear light amber and shows the same color body. A one inch puffy and foamy white head appears and gently dies to a centimeter that lasts for a good bit. Speckles are seen on the inside floating around (assuming that’s the ground ginger root). Bubbles gently drift and look like they are dodging the ginger root, interesting, this is really interesting stuff. The smell has the ginger in front with some nice hops slightly in the background. The taste is sweet yet spicy with the ginger and hops mixing with some light malts. The palate is about light to medium with some harshness on the tongue most likely due to the ginger. This is extremely drinkable. Overall, this is a good ginger beer with real ginger in it. I’d have it again.

Ginger is not a spice I typical look for in a drink, much less a beer, but this is a very well done spiced beer. Dry, so the ginger isn’t accentuated by a sugary flavor. Ginger comes out in the aroma and strongly in the flavor. Strangely well balanced though. If it weren’t so expensive, I would try this more often.

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a deep mahogany body with a small white head. Aroma is fresh ginger and nutty nougat tones, with hints of lemongrass and licorice. Smooth. Taste is nutty caramel and nougat tones, hints of ginger and candy sugar. OK. Slight ginger burn in the aftertaste, with some alcohol to go. Medium body, mild carbonation. A rather mildly tasting yet strong ginger ale. I like it. And it has an awesome label. :-)

Bottle. Pours a very cloudy reddish amber with a fairly small head. Ginger dominates both the smell and taste of this - and this is not a flavor I really care for. Too much ginger for my taste.

Eh, decent taste but not worth the price at all...ginger is subtle but good...wish it was slightly sweeter

From notes: Poured a very hazy orangey-amber, with a small, thin bone-colored head. Mild citrusy aroma with a mild gingery bite and a touch of yeast. Body was fuller than expected, with an almost bready thickness. Flavor was surprisingly dominated by citrusy hops and bready yeast. As it warmed, a mild ginger note appeared in the finish that lingered nicely.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a light blurry amber-brown one with a small islandy and sidesticking off-white top. Fresh ginger up front on the nose, some light grassy bitterness also with caramel and something light smoked. Not bad at all. The taste has traces of alcohol, but again it’s the ginger that dominates in a subtle and really discreet way. Peppery and spicy also with a light warming finish. Soft to average on the carbonation and slick to oily on the mouthfeel. Nice in small amounts, but I’m not sure I could pour down pints on pints with this. 18.10.2012
