A dose of fresh ginger roots added to the brewkettle creates an intriguing mix of ginger, malt-sweetness , and citruslike aromas and flavors Hoppy dryness is very subdued with ginger-sweet-spicey notes dominating throughout to the very finish.

24.3 oz bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 3/2012. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of ginger root, caramel, pear, apple, citrus zest, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, toffee, herbal, floral, grass, light clove, and herbal earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of ginger, malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, ginger, toast, brown sugar, pear, apple, light citrus zest, brown bread, toffee, herbal, floral, grass, light clove, and herbal/toasted earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, ginger, toast, brown sugar, pear, apple, brown bread, toffee, herbal, floral, light clove, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of dark/bready malt, ginger, and moderate yeast fruitiness; with a good malt/spice balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy, smooth, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice spiced amber ale. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of malt, ginger, and moderate yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Truth in advertising all the way. I’m getting ginger in the aroma, and a big dollop in the flavor. It is quite good -- but if you don’t like ginger, don’t drink ....

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a dark amber coloured beer with a rich malty and toffee flavour, burnt toffee notes with rich warming ginger on the finish. Very good but too high an ABV for its flavour.

Bottle from somewhere, (forgot where) consumed at Haydn & Carol’s Tuesday 4th March 2014 Pours dark amber with white head. Texture wise this is quite thick in mouth. There is an initial sweetness but with a good bite, there is plenty of ginger, even so perhaps not as much as I was expecting, nonetheless it is a tasty beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

3rd Noble Beer Sangha: From bottle, thanks to Kat & Eric. Pour cloudy beige without head. Flavor dominated by maltiness as in under-attenuated new beer and some hints of ginger noted in bursts or in alternating sips. Troubling fusel alcohol notes in finish. Unfocused and/or travel weary.

Cerveza de gengibre, con un alto sabor a este elemento, cuerpo y con poca espuma, refrescante y suave. Si te gusta el gengibre esta es tu cerveza

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Drukket hjemme i selskap med Elsa&Kristoffer 28 Aug 13. Gyldenbrun. Lavt skum. God ingefæraroma. Smaken er passe sterk ingefær. Tørr syrlig ettersmak. En av de bedre ingefærølene.

Bottle. Another nice one from this brewery. Cloudy orange appearance.Ginger flavour is pleasant but not overpowering. Left some sediment and a fruity aftertaste. Far far better than i had expected.
