COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dose of fresh ginger roots added to the brewkettle creates an intriguing mix of ginger, malt-sweetness , and citruslike aromas and flavors Hoppy dryness is very subdued with ginger-sweet-spicey notes dominating throughout to the very finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dirty-looking orange-copper with a spare diminishing off-white head and plenty of sediment -- kind of flat looking. Mild aroma of light ginger, caramel malt and citrus. Flavour of ginger, caramel malt, yeast and spices. Some alcohol in the lightly bitter, slightly astringent finish. Average bodied. Decent but doesn’t do much for me.

deep amber color with a dense beige head. lightly spicy and gingery aroma, with more typical sweet malt and some resinous hops behind. spicy, but not hot-smelling - surprisingly inviting. flavor is much like the aroma, very interesting! no ginger "heat" but the flavor has clearly been imparted. really more of a candied ginger flavor than spice. fairly attenuated as a bit of alcohol is present and not much residual sweetness. quite a fun beer!

this brew manages to present a great ginger flavor without seeming artificial or barely perceptible. The japanese surely know how to work the ginger. Would make a great brew with your sushi or even a wintertime brew served slightly warmer.

Bottle sampled. Pours a cloudy orange with a nice tan head. Aroma of ginger, malts, and some spices. Flavor is similar to aroma with a nice citrus aftertaste.

09 Sept 07. 330mL bottle, 7% ABV. Dark amber color. Thin tan head. Smells like a spicy gingerbread cookie. YUM. Malty flavors finished with sharp bitter ginger spicyness. Big flavors of freshly ground ginger. Spicy, light-medium body. Alcohol well hidden (7%?)

Pours a cloudy brown with a nice fizzy head that dissapates quickly. Looks like a good Belgian ale. The aroma has the ginger, with hints of orange and lighter malts. The flavor has some hops, but it’s mainly sweet and silky, with a really cool spicy ginger finish. This is a pretty cool beer... my first good Japanese beer, actually. I want to check out the other beers they have to offer.

In the 720 mL screen-printed bottle from Beertopia. I’d buy this beer just for the bottle! Too bad it is green glass. The aroma is easily identified as soon as you pop the cap. This is about as strong a ginger aroma as a homebrew ginger ale soda pop might have. Very nice. At first, sweet like a ginger ale, but then the maltiness blows past you with a nice bitter and ginger burn on the tongue at the finish. Actually a bit like having Lidocaine on your tongue. Outstanding mouthfeel. My disclaimer is that I just mowed the yard, which makes all beer taste better, but I think this might be my favorite ginger beer. Way better than Bluetongue because it has a substantial malty backbone that keeps the ginger from being too dominant even though it is in this beer in copious amounts. Classic amber in color, this has an attractively formed beige head that hangs in there.

in bottle. smells like ginger! yum! flavor is a peppery ginger, and sweet. significant malt underpinnings, with floral hops on the end. A nice apricot umber color, with off-white head and lacing on top.

very good. The taste taste like the real ginger that you get at your favorite sushi houses. The taste is fresh and malt. hops are light but the rest works

The aroma has yeast, ginger, caramel, malt, and hops. The appearance is hazy brown with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thick. Overall this is very good!
