COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dose of fresh ginger roots added to the brewkettle creates an intriguing mix of ginger, malt-sweetness , and citruslike aromas and flavors Hoppy dryness is very subdued with ginger-sweet-spicey notes dominating throughout to the very finish.

Full review with photos and links to other reviews: http://beer47.com/2009/04/kiuchi-hitachi review: Appearance. This beer has a foamy but not frothy yellow-white head and does not leave much foam on the glass. This beer is hazy, which might be expected of an herb/spice beer, and has an amber or dark honey color. ----- Smell. Real Ginger Brew has a ginger aroma like that of ginger ale or ginger beer, which is a sweet smooth ginger smell. The bouquet is spicy with a bit of cloves and is enhanced by the ginger while accompanied by a light fruitiness. ----- Taste. The most pronounced taste of this beer is sweet malty ginger. Backing the ginger beer flavor is a sweet maltiness that is complemented with a touch of smooth hop bitterness. As you drink more of this brew the spiciness of the ginger builds but not so much that is it overpowering. ----- Mouthfee Real Ginger Brew is well carbonated, which adds to the comparison to ginger ale, and is a medium-light bodied beer. Drinkability. This beer is strong in alcohol content and strong in ginger flavor. On one hand it is crisp and refreshing like a ginger ale but also like a ginger ale I rarely want more than one.

Bottle poured into a hotel glass. Hazy dark amber with off-white head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, toffee, ginger, candied fruit. Tastes of dark fruit, caramel, ginger. Medium body with a dry finish. Wasnít expecting the dark fruit so that was kind of strange.

330ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Rich orange copper in colour with a thin but lasting beige head, good lacing. The aroma is of soap, light sweetness, some gingerbread, candy. The flavour is of citrus, a fair amount of ginger, grassy, good amount of sugary sweetness. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, sweet with some ginger spice. I like this, quite refreshing stuff. Well done.

Intense viscous beginning. Dark malt, spicy ginger, not easy to drink. The spicy ginger is there, but not sharp. The malt covers it well, but is for me a bit too present. The aftertaste is a mix of sweetish malt and spicy ginger with a nice fine bitterness. For me a bit too intense sweetish-malty. The ginger is too much in the background....

Another great Hitachino beer. Pours a cloudy orange. Smells of ginger and spices. Tastes great, lots of ginger all around, with a fruitiness and herbiness as well. Paired with tuna poke, beer is a bit crisper. Had in the bottle.

Served at room temp, itís a clear copper colour with a 2 finger head of foam. Ginger and honey in the nose. Thereís another spice here, I reckon itís nutmeg. Nice aromas going on. Ginger first, honey sweet flavours second, nutmeg brings up the rear. Sight hop bitterness here but that isnít really needed for me to like this brew. Smooth smooth mouthfeel. Very creamy. Oh and the foam is long lasting and thereís awesome lacing. In plain words, this is very good.
