Yeasty nose and flavor. Strawberry, very mild licorice, mildly sweet, mildly hoppy, very refreshing. Love it.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My first rice beer, so donít know what to expect. Not much head, slightly hazy in the glass. Aroma donít give away much clues of what to expect from the flavour. Carbonation is fizzy to lively, vague hint of raspberry in the aftertaste. Overall rating from me is slightly above average, a 12/20 just because it is an interesting experience.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours orange amber and clear, with flakes of yeast.
Rice and doughy sweetness.
Tastes a little malty, like wiener sausage. Quite pilsner sweet and light

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle. Murky pink-ish golden colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Strange, spicy grainy aroma, hints of fried rice. Taste is sweet-and-sour, floral, fruity and slightly spicy, hints of lychee and strawberry. What must be the red rice is interesting and quite complex in taste but doesnít work in the aroma.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
nose: begins very interesting: overripe, decomposing strawberries, some sweet sherry, some floral aspects, but then some cheap girlís perfume/perfumed pink little girlís pen aromas as well, together with alcohol heat; taste unfortunately brings out more of those cheaper aspects: pink labeled perfume, pink soap, a hint of false strawberry bath foam, very bubbly and fizzy mouthfeel, or like eating something that had been stored for too long next to soap and washing powder. Quite a pity, because this red rice thing definitely has some potential!

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
This beer was hard to quantify. I like it, but I doubt Iíll ever buy it again. Number one is the price, over here in the states itís like $7 for 12 ounces and thatís insane. Rice and grain aroma, very minimal smell though. Appearance was great, some deep hazy coloring with a short fading head. Taste followed the smell, itís amazing to think that being made with rice it doesnít taste more like it, and you donít taste the alcohol at all. Itís very drinkable but has a slight spice to the taste also. Not something Iíd exactly celebrate though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly hazy amber color with a fluffy white head, that keeps a nice lacing. Aromas of bubblegum, pine, strawberry and caramel. Flavor is like strawberry gum and too sweet. Low carbonation and medium body with a sweet strawberry syrup fruit finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ten czerwony kolor nie do konca jest taki jak powinien byc delikatnie czerwony refleks, ale glownie jasny bursztyn swieci w szklaneczce. Piwo ze srednia i malo trwala pianka. Smak ryzowy slodowy nieco karmelowy. Malinowe w smaku ale lekko wytrawne i chmielne na zakonczenie. Ciekawe ale nie powalajace.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This strong pale ale is deceptively substantial, looks like a light pale ale, but packs a hefty first mouthful. There are strong hints of burnt barley and an almost abrupt hoppy finish with a lingering aftertaste of lightly salted caramel. The red rice gives the usual NEST offering the heft that made this a very pleasant surprise second outing with Hitachino beers.
Very drinkable. Made me want baby back ribs.
