| A Stout brewed by Kiuchi Brewery Ibaraki, Japan
| |
IslandHaole (1026), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan Jan 1, 2005 A glassfull of used motor oil toped with a small light brown head. Roasted malts take center stage but this isn’t a "one trick pony" as other Japanese stouts that I’ve tried have been. There is sweetness from the malts and yet a bit of a tart follow. A tangy bitter aftertaste.
A dangerously easy to drink beer. My only knock on it is that it’s a bit thin bodied for a stout.
