0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear golden one with a small bubbly and quickly sidesticking off-white head. Smells of yeast, banana, cloves, dried fruity orange zest, hints of surprising smoke and some sweet bubblegum. A bit sweet, definitely different and quite good actually. Lots of sweet caramelized banana in the flavor. It’s soft to average carbonated with a mild oily mouthfeel. A bit spicy, some grassy dryness, fruity-bubblegum - making this a sweet and quite original one. Those Japanese, crazy folkz! 22.08.2012

Poured a light murky yellowish gold color from the bottle with aromas of clove, light banana, some esters, and light spice. Flavors follow suit, just watered down versions of the aroma, decent hefe overall.

ClubGonzo (2718) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 18, 2012
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Clear orange body, nearly no head. Weizen. Whuut? Nose is banana, grains, hints of clove and caramel. Taste is smooth clove and banana notes with hints of grains. Soft carbonation, full body and a slightly parching mouthfeel, believe it or not. Seems a bit like a handicapped weizen; no more than half-decent.

Bottle. Yellow and slightly cloudy.Wheat and citrus blend together. Subtle or bland not really sure which description applies. Either way I wont be trying it again.

330ml brown bottle. Initial pour was disapointingly clear, but this bottle was heavily sedimented. After a good rousing the appearance changes for the better, deeper golden shade and suitably hazy for the style. It holds a small white cap with very modest lacing. Nose has big clove, lemon, spice and banana. Taste has a wheat malt base, lemon and clove. Dry finish, lingering wheat and trace spicy yeast. Light body, average carbonation. Fairly typical weizen, decent overall.

330ml bottle. Aroma is mostly clove and spice but a little yellow fruit comes through. Taste is more balanced between banana, candy sugar and clove. Overall, I’m not the biggest fan of this style of spicing, but it was a well made beer.
