3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A bright golden coloured beer with a thick white head. A distinct aroma, wheaty, bready, spicy, especially clove and cinnamon and a mild lime and lemon citrus aroma. Dry and prickly mouthfeel. A dry wheaty taste, biscuity and bready, then the spice elements comes through with cinnamon and clove. This is followed by a light zesty lemon and lime flavour that lasts into a well balanced finished.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Small sweetish wheaty nose, with some peach and light spice. Hazy honey straw color, thin head. Light sweet banana, small citrus, and very gentle but unusual hoping in mid and final. Thin body. Okay. Nose is nice, but flavors are just so mild. Missing the body and bite of a good hefe.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Seiyu served in my weizen glass. It pours a soft gold with a pillowy white head. The aroma is sweet spicy wheat featuring cloves blended with coriander. A raspy carbonation on a somewhat thin body means it lacks a chewy malt backbone I’d enjoy. The taste is of a decent weizen: wheat, cloves, coriander, a bit of a bitter fruity finish. Not much fruit character to it but it’s an OK beer. I’d say Hitachino’s White Ale is better though.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
I think this is my first legitimate craft beer from Japan, and it seems to be an unusual rendition of the hefeweizen style. A lighter but crisp aroma of wheat and banana and orange. The appearance is distinctive in that seems to be much lighter than usual for this style, almost more yellow than orange, and more transparent/ less substance than other hefe's. The flavor and palate is accordingly lighter, sweet wheat, malt, and banana-clove flavors. A bit strange overall, but I actually kind of enjoy this lighter, crisper example of the style. Finishes with a mild wheaty aftertaste. Definitely different, if nothing else.
