BrewDad (1553), Olympia, Washington, USA May 6, 2008 330ml Bottle - Gravity Beer Market - Olympia, WA
Aroma – Nice wheat aroma with a good malt background and some subtle spices.
Appearance – Slight amber in color, Nice head and slight haze.
Flavor – A very good wheat beer. I was very surprised with this beer. Good balance with the malt and hops. Lots of fruit flavors, orange peel, maybe even some tropical fruit essence.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, great texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – A very nice wheat beer. Was very surprised with this being a Japanese beer. Very well done almost a Belgian style.
BeerandBlues2 (2411), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle purchased at Coaltrain Wine and Liquor, Colorado Springs, CO. Pours sparkling and hazy yellow with an average, fizzy, white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), light hops (grass), heavy yeast (dough, barnyard, earth) with notes of banana, clove, and coriander. Light bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. ParkSloper (14), New York, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is fairly typical of the style--citrus and banana esters--but subdued. Appearance is slightly orange and slightly cloudy, with a thin, quickly-dispersing head. Flavor tracks the aroma closely, with fruitiness predominating over a subtle breadiness. Finishes with a snap, then a slightly sour aftertaste. Very light on the palate. Overall a crisper, perhaps more food-friendly take on a Weizen. gunnfryd (2662), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Golden - orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is orange, yeast, citrus. Flavour is sweet, sour, citrus, yeast, malt, wheat. Interesting beer. yngwie (3342), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. It pours a nice, hazy orange-golden body with a small off-white head. Slightly yeasty nose with some banana and lemon, sweetness and a little bit of cloves. Almost syrupy sweet in the mouth, with some fruity sourness, cloves and banana. Strange, but quite nice, even though it’s far from the regular hefeweizen. Effervescent. Lemony, acidic finish. For a hefeweizen, it’s both very sweet and very sour. Strange but ok-ish. (080509) AmEricanbrew (824), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jun 25, 2008 33cl bottle. Hazy, very pale gold with a lime tint to the color, foamy white head. Good tart wheat and dry spicy yeast aroma. Medium body and smooth. Nice tart wheat flavor with cloves is lightly sweet. Very easy drinking. Another nice hot weather wheat beer here.
