Linus_Stick (1486), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2008 OK...rating this as a beer it wasn’t that bad. As a hefe, not great. Then again, this IS made in Japan so for them to perfectly replicate a German beer is understandable. This wasn’t that bad, though. Aroma was a tad weak. A hind of wheat with bit of spice. Pour was a nice deep gold with a one finger white head. Taste was a little sweet for a hefe, but the nice carbonation and the wheaty tart aftertaste help the beer out.
BeerandBlues2 (2432), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle purchased at Coaltrain Wine and Liquor, Colorado Springs, CO. Pours sparkling and hazy yellow with an average, fizzy, white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), light hops (grass), heavy yeast (dough, barnyard, earth) with notes of banana, clove, and coriander. Light bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. ParkSloper (14), New York, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is fairly typical of the style--citrus and banana esters--but subdued. Appearance is slightly orange and slightly cloudy, with a thin, quickly-dispersing head. Flavor tracks the aroma closely, with fruitiness predominating over a subtle breadiness. Finishes with a snap, then a slightly sour aftertaste. Very light on the palate. Overall a crisper, perhaps more food-friendly take on a Weizen. gunnfryd (2683), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Golden - orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is orange, yeast, citrus. Flavour is sweet, sour, citrus, yeast, malt, wheat. Interesting beer. yngwie (3385), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. It pours a nice, hazy orange-golden body with a small off-white head. Slightly yeasty nose with some banana and lemon, sweetness and a little bit of cloves. Almost syrupy sweet in the mouth, with some fruity sourness, cloves and banana. Strange, but quite nice, even though it’s far from the regular hefeweizen. Effervescent. Lemony, acidic finish. For a hefeweizen, it’s both very sweet and very sour. Strange but ok-ish. (080509) AmEricanbrew (867), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jun 25, 2008 33cl bottle. Hazy, very pale gold with a lime tint to the color, foamy white head. Good tart wheat and dry spicy yeast aroma. Medium body and smooth. Nice tart wheat flavor with cloves is lightly sweet. Very easy drinking. Another nice hot weather wheat beer here.
