| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2008 This beer pours a deep, slightly hazy amber with a thick, lasting, creamy head. It has a nice sour aroma and flavor that is balanced with a little underlying sweetness in the body of the beer. There are some woody notes followed by a balanced finish. Tasty. I’ll definitely get this one again. bb (2976), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 23, 2008 Bottle. Mahogony beer with a light tan head. Big fruit aroma leading to salty, sake, and caramel notes. Sake, fruity, woodsy flavors - the actual beer is too hidden in the barrel notes. Medium body. Lingering sake, wood, and slight spice. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Pours a cloudy deep brown with a nice
tan head. Sweet, malty aroma with some caramel notes and a floral touch
from the hops. Smooth palate, but just a
bit syrupy with a tinge of astringency.
Rich malty taste with some caramel and
a bit of smokiness. Also a touch of citrus. Damn good. This brewery’s
products can be hard to find on the east
coast, but worth seeking out. BOLTZ7555 (1121), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

This beer was impressive. Burnt orange with hints of crimson, this beer had a nice 2-inch off-white head. Aroma is oak, vanilla, brown sugar and darker fruit. Full-flavored, malt-driven, hidden alcohol. NICE!!! MaltDawg (816), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Tap Capital Ale House Innsbrook 08/27/2008. Light fruits and spice in nose. Cloudy amber orange with moderate fine off-white head. Spicey coriander and orange over carmelized malts. Spice is quite floral and sake notes are quite evident. Light body with medium mouthfeel. Finish is slightly sweet with lots of floral almost citrus spice.
