Bottle. Pours lightly hazy brown with a large, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is cookie and toast malt, light caramel, sour and funky barnyard yeast, light sake and oak notes, and a faint fig presence. Flavor is lightly sweet caramel and honey malt, light to medium bitterness, sour and funky yeast, plums and figs, sake notes, and a sweet finish. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pilsner-like glass. Appearance: Cloudy orange with towering cream colored head and some nice lacing. Aroma: Tart apples, vinegar, oak and pepper. Taste: Nice tartness derived from apple and citrus. The oak aging adds a nice level of complexity, as does the brett. Ends with pepper, clove and spicy hops. Great balance overall and the tartness remains at a manageable level. Palate: Moderately high carbonation, medium body with a tart, dry finish. As the carbonation recedes, it becomes very smooth. Overall: Love the complex layers within this beer, while remaining compulsively drinkable.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a reddish brown colour with a small thick head on the edges. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, strong hops and weak solvent like notes. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, strong hops, banana, hay and some wood. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and an alcohol finish with sweet fruits. Too sweet again and lacks malts.

33 cl bottle, BBE 10/2012
Sweetish and rather light aroma with malt and candi sugar. Hints of spices and toffee too. Sweet taste with lots of candi sugar and some spices. Some solvent-like alcohol too, especially in the aftetaste. Way too sweet for me.

pours barely translucent dark orange with an enormous beige head and lots of chunky lacing. Aroma consists of floral notes, orange, candy sugar and spices. Tingling carbonation. Taste is quite bitter despite the strong fruit presence. notes of sake, mango, orange and butter all come through. finish is a bit sour. a well made, complex beer that is quite unique.
