Copper orange color with white foam. Musty almost sour aroma of ginger and cherry. Musty almost cider vinegary flavor. You can clearly taste the sake. Nice charred barrel notes on the finish. A unique beer.

Kiwi, pineapple, cumquat, and thistle nose. Cloudy auburn, thick yellow head. Cumquat and thistle flavor, balanced and exquisite. Finishes with lemon zest. Really tasty, exceedingly unique. Truly outstanding!

The initial aroma I got from the beer reminded me more of a sour style brewed with brett. I’m sure that comes from the aging in the sake casks but it adds a very nice layer of complexity. The aroma is full of sour grape notes that are joined by some malty sweetness. The appearance is a reddish brown color that pours with a nice lighter tan color. The taste is very similar to the smell, however; the taste includes some more bitterness form the hops than the aroma does. Overall this a very well made beer.

pours a brownish red color with very light tan head. Aromas of caramel, spice and cinnamon. Warm initial bite on the attack, which fades to a warm slightly sweet finish with a hint of almost green olive like tang, very faint. A nice beer.

Bottle. Brune pour with some tan head. Dry fruit, some grape, citrus and caramel tones, bit of sake tone. Different, but enjoyable.

Bottle; Pour is cloudy dark gold with an off white head; retains well, very spotty lacing. Interesting brew; It has that dark fruit that you’d expect out of a Belgian strong on the nose, but the sake casks provide something slightly different. This brew is sweet initially - it is slightly boozy, and bitter on the finish. Chocolate, Dark Fruits, Barrel aged notes on the flavor profile - I liked.

Bottle. Light amber-reddish, cloudy, averagel and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, fruity lightly sweetish aroma with berries, some spiciness and faint notes of licorice. Body is medium, fruity dryish flavor with berries, some spiciness and faint notes of licorice. Finish is average, dryish, berries and some spiciness. Strange but interesting dryish brew.

Bottle at Jan & Charlotte’s, Ulfborg, Denmark, 08.04.11 thanks Jan & Charlotte for this. Amber in colour with a tan head, good sized head in fact, this head also remains for a quite a while. Soft in the mouth with a heavy malt and sweetness, little bit of dark fruits also coming through. Quite nice stuff. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
