A: Looks great, nice dark amber. Like other strong ales Iíve seen. S: Aroma much like sake, which would be pretty great if thatís what I were into. But Iím not. T: Tastes like sake, not like beer. Itís a complex taste, and I give it points for that, but I just canít do much with it because Iím not into sake. Thatís what you get for letting an amateur review beers, haha. M: Smooth, nothing special going out, but still a decent body. D: Canít do more than sip this.

Bottle.Orange hazy. Malty, some belgy- style yeasty notes, soft ripe peach, orange fruityness. Soft smooth malty body. Some almonds, orange zest. Pretty nice harmonious brew. Nothing too awesome, just sort of .. nice.

(Hitachino Nest XH Extra High) Bottle 330 ml from a trade with torriman, thanks! Into a tulip, ABV 8% Deep red colour, quite hazy, with a tall and very thick and creamy off-white head on top. Excellent retention, medium lacing left on the glass. Very fruity aroma, red fruits, some caramel, toffee. Taste is rather sweet but surely not cloying. Again lots of red fruits, jam, caramel, toffee, well hidden alcohol, light vanilla even. Medium thick body, soft carbonation, sticky palate. One of the better belgian ales Iíve had and another solid one from Hitochino.

Grass-pine aroma with restrained head and deep brown colour. Surprisingly laid back and balanced body that hides itís strength with ease. Didnít get any íBelgianí flavour though - taste is similar to the other pale ales from the brewery (aka Anglo).

bottle @ home from Saveur-biere.com - Color: dark amber beer with small carbonation and small ivory white foam. Smell: malt, sweet malt, caramel, sugar, wheat presence. Woody notes. Taste: nice malt taste. Really nice work on the malt, with great cereals notes. Small alcohol notes with dry sensation. Candied fruits and plum notes. Aftertaste: malt and caramel, with dry sensation with plum notes. - Really nice beer! Amazing complexity, itís not totally my style but I admire the work of the brewers to realize this beer! Amazing complexity with nice equilibrium. A must to try!

A delicious Belgian-inspired Strong Ale brewed in old Sake casks. Itís a great idea, uniquely Japanese.

Brune rousse.

Red brown colour, like caramel. Very fine foam, not persistent, golden beige. Smell of sake and fudge. Smoothness very well balanced and boosted by a bitterness that is never aggressive. Nicely matches strong cheese : beer that wraps and smoothes langres, shropshire, stilton... Wery well done and enjoyable.

Bottle, Amber/ cloudy read color, off white head that held the retention. Aroma is dried fruits, mineral water element, wood cask and light sake.

The body is fuller with a nice creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is mostly the same as the aroma. Im not a connoisseur of sake but you can get the flavor in the finish rather well. The wood oak cask goes with the sake character. Interesting and tasty.
