Pours hazy golden brown with off white head. Aroma of typical tropical fruity belgian yeast with hints of carmel and light oak. Taste the same but with a nice carmel malt background and lingering bittering hop or maybe the sake aftertaste. Overall a good example of a belgian strong with a different twist.

Red brown colour, like caramel. Very fine foam, not persistent, golden beige. Smell of sake and fudge. Smoothness very well balanced and boosted by a bitterness that is never aggressive. Nicely matches strong cheese : beer that wraps and smoothes langres, shropshire, stilton... Wery well done and enjoyable.

Bottle, Amber/ cloudy read color, off white head that held the retention. Aroma is dried fruits, mineral water element, wood cask and light sake.

The body is fuller with a nice creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is mostly the same as the aroma. Im not a connoisseur of sake but you can get the flavor in the finish rather well. The wood oak cask goes with the sake character. Interesting and tasty.

Golden brown color. Tiny white head. Aorma of roasted malt and fruits. Flavour of caramel malts, fruits plus some notes that must come from the sake barrels. Nice finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drank a while ago, updating my notes a bit tardily, but I recall this as more like akin to a barley wine than anything Belgian. Which is to its credit, as I am especially fond of barley wine. Sweet, powerful, bready caramel malts; felt stronger than it was; my second Hitachino Nest Beer and both have been excellent.

"Nice balance of roasted malt, fruity/bitter hopping, and obvious but not overdone barrel influence. Pretty cool beer overall. Easy drinking yet complex at the same time."
