Cloudy copper color, with a slight off white head. Smells strongly of sake and yeast. Bready and lightly toasty start with a large sake punch, vanilla and caramel, crisp carbonation on the finish. Very good, but the sake could get overwhelming.

from Bier-Bienne - hazy dark amber-orange beer with a little persistent beige foam; strong aroma of wood and caramel, gently oaky, dried figs; fairly sweet, full-bodied, long notes of ripe fruits, caramel and more woody tones - good yet too sweet for me

330ml bottle at home. Dark amber, hazy with yeast, light beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, belgi yeast and sweet bread. Taste is sweet malts, some fruit and overwhelming medicine bitterness. Surprisingly strong taste with some alcohol. Medium palate. Could be a bit sweeter.

Nose is rich, carameley, slightly boozy. Smells like it is going to be a full-bodied beer, but surprisingly is medium-light. The body is perhaps a bit thin to carry the spirit character.

Tap@ Valencia on Tap.

Bottle 33 cl from Bier-Bienne (CH). Orangy-brown veiled beer with an average pale ochre head. Aromas very malted, stewed fruits, jam, toffy, yeast and point of hops. The taste is soft, fruity and malty, apricot compote, apple, honey, sweet notes of Saké. Caramel, typed yeast and hoppy bitterness in finale.

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a hazed amber color, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and light lacing. The nose was a bit of light funk, earthiness, ripened, near dried pit fruit, and a touch of spice. Light bodied, with rather low carbonation, and a somewhat thinned texture, the taste was similar, with the addition of light malt sweetness, and some cask warmth. Sorry Dave, okay, but not overly impressed.

Poured into tulip a cloudy light brown with minimal head, aroma is amazing, it’s yeasty Belgium for sure but amazingly sweet and fruity. Can’t quite place all the notes here but it’s great. Taste is sweet and fruit filled, bright and crisp. I get sugar, melon, yeast, malts, grains. A little boozey but hidden well enough for a 8%er. Slightly viscous Mouthfeel. Great beer and I wish I got more than a single.
