Really an unbelievable beer. Complex all around. Woody, brett, winey aroma and a bit sweet smelling. A beautiful deep hazy red/orange color with a thin off-white head. The taste is very complex; starts lightly sweet and bitter like a pale ale, turning to a slightly brett-like orange peel bitter-sour, then it smoothes out into a vanilla-like wood flavor finishing extremely smooth with a hint of sake at the end. Definitely one of my all-time favorites...like something out of willy wonka’s brewery!

Interesting Japanese take on a Belgian. Dark malt and sugar flavours with a boozy sweetness due to the sake casks.

butelka, bursztynowo-miedziane, lekko metnawe, z niewysoka ale gesta piana. Aromaty jasnych owocow (pomyslalem o melonie, brzoskwiniach, bananach), lekka przyprwowosc, ewidentna slodowa slodkawosc a la barley wine. drewniane jakies nuty. miodk. moze krztynka karmelu. nie jest funky. w ustach pelne, z wyczuwalnym alkoholem - sake nie pijam, mi sie z miodem pitnym ten alkohol kojarzy. slodkie z kwaskowatymi posmakami. niska goryczka. wszystko powyzej harmonijnie wspolgra. nieco syropowe w konsystencji, sporo ciala. ciezkie. deserowe. taki troszke Niedobity w lepszym wydaniu ;)

L: pours a very cloudy orange-brown, a half finger of creamy beige foam, a little lacing. S: a deep malt aroma with a Belgian feel, some toffee or caramel in there, a noticeable gentle fruit scent, perhaps dried apricot and peach. Slight shochu too. T: the shochu is much more pronounced in the taste, lingering and tasting all of the 8%. Prior to this I get a flavour similar to the nose. F: it’s quite spritzy up front, full malt body that’s not chewy but gets pulled through by some hop bittering. O: a great beer I couldn’t handle back in my more novice years, but now carries a lovely balance of flavours and goes down smoothly.

Bottle from Eltham Wines, Eltham. Burnt orange pour with a white head. Aromas of hot buttered potato, sweet spice, citrus and caramel. Flavours of toffee, barley sugar, sweet spice and pineapple. Boozy mouthfeel. Long, warm spicy finish.

Bottle 33cl. Pours a cloudy copper with a small beige head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of rice, biscuit, malts and alcohol. Medium body with an average carbonation. The sake leaves a lot of sweetness on the palate besides that it is malty with some wood (cedar cask i presume). Aftertaste has a slightly bitter finish that is warming. Imo not the best match between malts and sake. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Helt ok!

From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles. In Duvel glass. After dinner. At the month of its BB date. Nice caramel sweetness, like in some DIPAs but nicer, less stinky and more drinkable. Maybe my palate is getting used to this taste instead of this beer having a better flavor
