2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can at Deano’s monthly tasting, September. Poured a deep mahogany with a glass hugging tan head. The aroma is weak roasted malt. The flavour is weak bitter with a malty liqourice palate. A truly awful example of the style.

Almost no head. Clear deep burgundy pour. Too thin for a stout

Poured a light reddish brown with a frothy off white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and roast malt. Medium to light body, flavour of the aroma with a dry, bitter finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bought this from a local Super H Mart. Poured more of a dark, cola color with small off-white head. Okay first off, this was drinkable and went well with my homemade Korean dinner, but I wouldn’t call this a stout. Don’t get me wrong, it might be a stout but all I could think of while drinking this was "Vienna lager." Aroma is light roasted malts, mild sweetness in there. Flavor was light malts, some light roast notes. Crisp and pretty clean.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours black with fizzy cream-tan head that fades to film. In the porter color range rather than the stout, glints of garnet apparent. Aroma is strawberry, light wet hay, hint of burnt coffee. Flavor is broccoli, old dry hay, dirt... watery and bland. Seltzer water aftertaste. body is light with moderate prickly carbonation.

330ml can (Convenience store, Suwon) - shared by the Hel posse - thanks!
Dark, a bit fizzy. Unpleasant dirty roast aroma. Even worse in the taste. Nasty and watery. Even 1/4 of a can was too much - DP’ed it.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
(Can, 0.33 l, courtesy of FatPhil, 20130713) The beer poured deep dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, sweetness, paper and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. Not a completely bad brew but still leaves a lot to hope for.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can, under the name of "Black Beer Stout". Nose is lighter than I’d expect for the style, but has a nice bit of roasting to it and just a hint of pseudo-sourness you’ll often get in RISs. Taste also has some nice roasting bordering on a coffee bitterness. Actually a pretty good stout, IMHO.
