(12oz bottle, labeled Black Beer Stout, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a brown body with a small fizzy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, graham cracker, and ash. Flavor of caramel, chocolate, caramel, light ash, and roasted malt.

Barwa: ciemna, pod światło rubinowa, klarowna. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, niewielka, dość szybko opadająca i pozostająca jedynie przy ściankach. Aromat: zdecydowanie słodowy. Ciemne słody, lekka kwaskowość, melanoidyny, karmel. Mimo wszystko dość złożony, ale mało wyrazisty. Smak: słodowy, raczej lekki i słodki. Karmel, czekolada, melanoidyny, a więc zdecydowanie w stylu dark lagera lub scharzbiera. Wynalazek rodem z Korei, zakupiony w jednym z hipermarketów. Nazwa brzmi dość zabawnie, zwłaszcza w aspekcie dopisku lager type. Podobne piwo (dolnej fermentacji) warzył niegdyś rodzimy browar Południe, ale ono chociaż przypominało w smaku stout. Tutaj natomiast mamy do czynienia z jednym ze wspomnianych wyżej stylów, nawet przyzwoitym. Do tego cena także nie najgorsza. Jako lekkie piwo na lato, jak znalazł.

Dark carmel pour. Gets more black in the glass. Filmy, oily head. Aroma is caramel malt. Soft mouthfeel. Tastes like dark, roasted malt and like a black lager, not a stout. Not bad for an airport lounge.

Aroma: dark malts. Appearance: clear dark brown color, white head. Taste: low bitterness, dark malts, a little bit sweet, there are no stout notes. Palate: low body and high carbonation. Overall: Strange stuff. Something like schwarzbier without fireworks.

12 oz bottle at Hmart.. No head or lacing.. Carbonization is OK. Has some aspects of a stout.. But I don’t think this is really a stout.. kind of like a light beer laced with a stout.. But stouts are my favorite so I kinda toned down my score on this one as far as a stout is concerned.

6 pack of 12 oz bottles from H-mart in Plano. Poured a black with a very thin tan top and no lacing. Taste of roasted malt, slight skunk, void of flavor mostly. High carbonation, medium body. This is a stout??

Can. Pours black with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruitiness and roasted malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with some caramel, roasted notes and nuts. Medium to thin body, average carbonation.

Pours a thin head on a black body. The aroma is roasted malt, simple and one-sided but not bad. The taste is roasted malt with some lemon bitterness to round it out. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. It drinks more like a dark lager than a stout. Not bad.

355 ml can as “Hite Black Beer Stout” bought at Market Place by Jason’s in K11, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Clear, Cola-like blackish brown colour; One -quarter finger head and light beige foam which fades in 20 seconds; Small sticky lacing and fizzy carbonation; Pungent smell of lager malt, with light nuts, faint cream, light hint of chocolate, mustiness, yeast, and very strong straw; Close to zero sweet taste of roast malt, with nuts, light black coffee, very light toffee, light cardboard, light bread, lime, light bitter hops, and very strong straw; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is somewhere between a watery macro Amber Lager and Schwarzbier. Very lager-like body, with fairly light touch of roast malt, coffee, toffee and cream. Some wet paper and bready, and the rather bugging strawy hops. Ugh… Hoppiness is very strawy nose, lime and nasty straw in taste. Extract-like bitterness came through as the beer gets warmer for a lasting, light astringent finish; Fairly dry after taste. Papery and astringent to mouth.

Comments: This one tastes much like a jacked-up macro Schwarzbier: lagery, grassy, light nuts and coffee tastes. The slightly off musty nose, wet paper taste and annoying straw hops aside, this one tastes quite okay as a Schwarz. Don’t even think of it as a Stout, or else disappointment awaits.

Salmoniform (648) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Poured from bottle to glass. Dark jet black with off white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is massive cola, malt, yeast esthers, floral notes. Mouthfeel is good due to medium-light body with above-average carbonation. Taste is malty sweet with a slight CO2 bite finish. Little bitterness and quite esthery from the yeast. Overall, this is a decent beer but nothing spectacular and quite one-dimensional.

hazy sepia, thin white ring. Nose is thin tea, light roast, sugar balancing all. Flavor sweet with light bubblegum, wort hints all over, pretty soft overall. Thin and sticky.
