COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned, special;
Rich ruby porter. "Postman’s Knock is a beer offering an intelligent blend of complex ingredients, the rich brown beer with a smooth fine head has a very chocolately character. The combination of subtle flavour notes of vanilla, treacle and roast malt gives an initial rich sweetness leading to a velvety chocolate finish."

Doskonaly Porter. Tradycja powstawania tego piwa w tym browarze mi imponuje. Piwo jest glebokie troche ciezkie, palony slod, troche wloskiego prazonego orzecha, zdziebko laski wanilli oraz odrobinka osadu na dnie. Elegandzka etykieta moze takze przyciagac. Finisz mocno wytrawny. Swietna krzepka uczta. Polecam.

500ml bottle from Asda. Coffee brown colour with tan head. Treacle, coffee aroma. A roasted and creamy taste with a cocoa finish. A very very nice Porter.

Bottle bought from a food and drink festival at Telford. Dark and something like a cross between a stout and a mild. Malty and powerful with plenty of body. Excellent.

BC. Chestnut, slim beige layer. Appetising burnt treacle, coffee, plum and coal aroma. Fine and slippery with a well-roasted creaminess gathering together toasted nuts, Nutella on burnt wholemeal, gravy..and a well-wrung brambly, hoppy undercurrent with touches of soap. Aftertaste ash, cocoa, blackcurrants, carbon. Well gluggable, plenty going on. A fine example.

Colour - Dark brown and translucent. Carbonation - some, no head. Aroma - light smell of hops, slightly chocolatly. Initial taste - smooth ale with a light fizz, slight hoppy taste, tastes ’thicker’ than most, enjoyable. During - not too complex a flavour, slight hint of burnt treacle, a nice ale.

Bottle @ home thanks to Countbeer. Very dark brown to black color with a dark red glare coming through, medium sized tan head. Smell and taste malts, raisins, dark malts, a touch of liquorice, roastyness, nicely bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Nice beer.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2011 Bottled. A dark brown beer with a red hue, and an off-white head. This is a lovely old fashioned mild. Dry and roasty smoky nose. Fruity malty dryness with some coffee hints in the taste. Very flavoursome. Score 3.6

As a representative of her Majesty’s postal distribution service it’s only fitting that I give this a go. Reddish-brown pour with an off white head. Blackberries, vanilla, raisins and cloves in the nose. Flavours of chocolate, malts, raisins, vanilla. Good hop/malt balance. Bitter, hoppy finsih.

Bottle conditioned. Lovely smell of milky coffee. Very dark mahogany colour. Nice thin head with clumps of bubbles. Medium carbonation, slightly alkaline in the mouth and slightly warming. Milky, slightly acrid, slightly sour and a hint tart. Perhaps a touch metallic too. Very little hop as far as I can tell. Would have said it was a mild more than a porter but whatever it is, it’s nice.
