An elegant, straw coloured bitter. The hint of sweetness is complemented by subtle hop flavours, leading to a dry finish. Brewed using Maris Otter pale Ale malt, Hobson's yeast and finished with Worcestershire Goldings and Herefordshire Progress hops.

Church Inn, Ludlow. Cask. Clear gold beer, small bubbly white head. Palate is light and smooth and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, light and semi sweet. Mild honey vibe and floral notes. Modest citric hops on the back end. Finishes light and semi dry, mild bitter linger. Not bad, pretty quaffable.

500ml bottle into a nonic. Purchased at Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville with a best before date of August 2015; 5% abv. Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a thick an creamy one finger white head. The head retention is downright amazing for such a light beer. Huge staying power and great lacing to boot. If there is one thing that is lacking on this beer it is the aroma. Not a lot to comment about here but there is sweet grain with just a slight hint of toast. The flavor really is more impressive with sweet caramel and toffee along with a bit of cereal grain and floral hops. Bitterness is on the light side but plenty enough to counter the sweetness and it really lets the malt shine through. The mouthfeel has some substance with a drying and lingering bitterness. Overall, this is a really great English bitter and a very tasty beer overall. Oh what I would give to have this out of a cask. I’m glad I was able to pick this up.

500 ml. bb 20 Aug 2015. Label says 5% abv. Clear golden-amber with a lasting film of cream. Nose is toffee apple with a hint of citrus. Taste is caramel, apple with the bitter pith. Finish has some grass and citrus. Light body has medium carbonation and a good balance.

Flaska 500 ml. Klar guldfärgad med stort vitt skum. Vitt bröd, vått gräs och lätt fruktighet i doften. Smakinslag av citrus, vitt bröd, malt. Lätt beska. Påminner mer om en pilsner än en bitter.

Appearance: Clear golden with 2 finger thick white head. Aroma: Citrus, biscuit, bread, syrup, floral. Taste: Medium bitterness, low/medium sour and sweetness. Palate: Thick coarse texture, light body, average carbonation, dry abrupt malty, citrus, peppery finish. Comments: Good session beer and glass lace.

Bottle @ home thanks to Countbeer. Clear golden color, full sized white head. Aroma is pretty fruity and sweetish. Wasn’t expecting that. Taste however is decently bitter, a bit fruity, light to moderately malty. Average body and carbonation.
