COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hockley Stout is our brewmaster’s take on a classic Irish stout. Roasted malts, a slight acidity and hints of bitter chocolate are just some of the essence hiding in the inky darkness topped by a thick tan head. Deceptively light, this former seasonal beer has now become a regular part of our lineup due to customer demand. Try it today and taste liquid midnight.

Can. Pours "like liquid midnight" so the can says, pretty slick and near black, but actually a very dark clear glowing red, with a medium fizzy but creamy cream colored head. Aroma is nicely roasty, seemingly some roast acidity, touch of creamy chocolate, coffee, hint nutty. Flavor is a touch sour roasty, bright acidic roast flavor, dry and tangy, grassy chocolate, quick finish with some lasting sour cream like flavor aftertaste. Medium bodied, thinner with corse fizzy carbonation.

Can. Pours a black body with a short lived tan head. Sweet nitro like cream notes, sweet irish cream, light bitter chocolate tones. Dry bitter chocoalte tones with a mild caramel malt presence. Soft light with a a lightly roasted dry finish. Decent session ale.

Coffee and raspberries on the nose. Gives the mouth more coffee as well as must and smoke. Tasty, but could be stronger. A little short in the body. Solid, if overpriced.

can. Poured almost black with a red hue, the beige head recedes to nil. Moderate roasted malt aroma. Smooth rich mouthfeel. Flavour is roasted almost smoked malts, some coffee and cocoa notes and finishes dry.

473 ml can from LCBO. Pours a dark brown/black with a very small light brown head. Aroma has coffee, nuttiness and a light caramel sweetness. Flavour is very dry, roast/coffee but with a light moderating sweetness. Dry bitter finish. Pretty good.

it pours dark dark reddish brown with a small head that fades away, it smells like espresso beans, tastes like sweet espresso, a little coconut, some bar milk chocolate, its a tiny bit poppy, feels a bit weak in the mouth, better than i thought it would be and worth trying once out of ontario beer and liquor stores ridiculously small stout selection.
