Eructoblaster (1246), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 3, 2008 Can 473ml. Pours a black opaque body with average carbonation and a thin brown bubbly/frothy head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with roasty and dark chocolate hints. Taste is well balanced, but it lacks the robustness I was expecting. Ends with a short bitter/roasty finish. Ordinary. gilvanblight (322), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2008 Okay not sure if I have the right beer here. I had a 1 Liter Limited edition Hockley Stout, number 291107... which rates quite a bit higher then this. Here’s my rate for what I think was this beer:
Very dark pour with not too much head. Stong coco and coffee scent. Nice rich flavour of malts caramel and spice. A very pleasing roasted finish. One of the best, if not the best Stout I have ever had.
Told you it may not be this beer. If anyone knows where I have gone wrong please send me a message. Retorp (2148), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 The aroma is dusty, detergenty and has dark fruit and mild chocolate notes. Not a great start. The body is black and it holds a thin tan head. Chocolate, light roasted malt notes, dark fruits, some coffee, but it is mostly sweet and as it warms it intensifies and becomes a fairly enjoyable beer to drink. Not bad. Lubiere (3153), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2008 A deep dark stout with mahoganey hues and a thick moka head. Caramel and chocolate aroma, with light diacetyl notes. In mouth, a good chocolate malt with light peaty notes. Light yet refreshing. Can from LCBO, tasted May 2007. dkachur (678), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 25, 2008 473 mL can from matt7215. Thanks! Nearly black pour with a medium fizzy head. Roasted malt aroma with coffee and chocolate notes. Taste is nearly identical. Thin body.
