| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Smells very bready and even, medium malts, just a hint of alcohal. Dark red, if you hold it up to the light you can see everything in red-brown, nice looking, good head on pour, great lacing! Good malt flavour, but it takes just a moment to taste it and in that moment theres a funny weird taste going on and your not sure if its going to be good or not. Definately an english thing, its present in the smell and the taste. maybe goldings? Very easy going on the mouth, but just a bit too smooth also, I could use a bit more excitement. A nice dark ale, but that english taste just isn’t to my liking. Spab (345), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Can from matt7215. Thanks once more. Pours a dark ruby brown with a frothy beige head. Aromas of dark roasted malt and chocolate and citrus. Medium body with creamy/frothy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, and barring some dark malt that’s it. Finishes mildly bitter and chocolate. It’s a mild brown ale, and all the chocolate makes it quite tasty. Damn good beer.
