Chocolat and licorice scent with some coffee. Really smells like a stout. Nutty warming taste with quite the body. Hint of licorice and lots of malts bitter and sweet. turg (156), Quebec, Canada Feb 15, 2006 Can 500ml. Appearance: Dark brown body color with thin head. Aroma: malty, floral hop, toffee. Flavor: roasted malt , chocolate. Thank Len Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jan 19, 2006 Canned - 500ml. Dark brown body with reddish glints and a diminishing brown bubbly head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar, toffee and plummy notes. Very enjoyable and relatively robust hoppy taste with roasted malt hints. It ends with a good bitter finish. That ale is more than decent. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Jan 12, 2006 500 ml can, 5% a/v
Looks pretty much like a glass of coke! Brownish head which quickly dissapates. Smells malty with floral/fruit undertones. Tastes almost woody, with an aftertaste of malt. Definetly a delicious brew.
iambeer (255), Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2006 Not bif into this type of ale, bad this I would easliy drink again. The one litre botttle wasn’t enough. Boutip (2335), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 27, 2005 Bottle: Poured a clear dark color ale with nice foamy dark brown head with good retention. Aroma of English malt with floral undertone is easily distinguishable. Taste is very refreshing wit a good roasted malt presence and a bitter finish with a good balance of what seems like English hops. Body is a bit thin but overall this is a very enjoyable drink. JohnBarleycorn (390), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 23, 2005 A very nice, unusual-looking dark with nuances of black, dark brown and purple concentrating in different areas of the glass. Subtle, pleasant aromas of dark malt, coffee and milk chocolate. Plush, creamy palate is exceptionally smooth. Chocolate flavours abound, and evolve from a milk chocolate beginning to a dark, almost bitter chocolate finish. The type of beer you use to convert a non-beer-drinker into a beer drinker.
