Cloudy golden coloured beer. A fruity, spicy and malty aroma. The flavour is fruity and a bit malty. The aftertaste is bitter. (Bottle 33cl 8.5alcohol% in my version)

Prima birra che commento; in una sola parola...fantastica! Ha gli stessi aromi della classica hoegaarden white, ma esaltati e coperti finemente dall’ alcol. Consigliata vivamente a tutti coloro che adorano le bianche di frumento.

Clove and bananna dominate the aroma and it has a creamy body that is thick without being cloying. Great beer.

(33cl bottle) Sampled at Lubiere’s place on August 11, 2005. pours a large, frothy white head with a cloudy, straw coloured body. Leafy, banana, fresh smoke nose. More thinnly flavoured than the nose - milky, banana and mild cloves. Average.

Hazy peach-yelow-orange hue with a fine looking white, creamy head. Aroma is much like you’d expect a souped up wit to be; lots of bananas, cloves, wheat malt, baby food, some sugar and cobwebs. Moderate sweetness and acidity upfront. Lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter in the finish. Body was thinner than I expected at 8.7%abv, but it was creamy with lively carbonation. Some alcohol notes detract from the enjoyment.

Cloudy yellow with floaties and medium light white head. Light bubble gum, sweet yeast flavor and light spice. Light cream and something smokey going on. Medium palate with carbonation. Light spice finish, yeasty aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2005 Very suprised here, iv had it before and didnt rate it. Aroma starts citruis with yeast but as it warms it gets spicier and more complex. Flavour is similar to aroma, but for me its the mouthfeel here that makes this to great, it feels quite a mouthful with whats going on and carbonated to on excellent level, defo one to get again as they’ve started selling it in the tesco across the road from me, hehe. Re-rating - Increabable balance, banace aswell as orange cutting through the yeasty goodness here, alround no alcohol at all.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2013 Bottle. Hazy gold with lots of coriander and yeasty nose, not bad, it has some complexity and sourness. Re-rate bottle at La Trappiste advertised as Hoegaarden Speciale but in fact a bottle of Grand Cru turned up so I was pissed off as this wasn’t a rate but credit to the beer that it won me over. Decent banana ester aroma, but the finish is the best thing. Lively full of life spritzy and hoppy and bitter. Yep won me over.

Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Some small particles. Aromas and tastes of yeast, bananas, bubble gum and spices. Medium sweet. Thinner body.
