Hazy golden color with a large foamy white head. Floral and honey aromas. Sweet malt and spicey flavor. Very smooth mouthfeel and the alcohol is well hidden. Very good

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2009 It looks like honey, smells like honey and flowers. So far so good. But this is one of my biggest beer-related disappointments, after noticing that beer gives a hangover. The taste is foul and bitter, like a too young wine. The finish might be good and sweet, points for that, but the aftertaste is pure horror. Only alcohol. Maybe something wrong with this bottle..? It says to serve it at 5-6 degrees, which I doubt will improve the taste. Re-rate: the old one was 6/4/3/3/8 (2,4 total), now this time it’s actually good!

Deep orange glow. Definitely heavier, sweeter and more alcoholic than the original white but somehow not as good. Not as refreshing and a little too overpowering making it less well-balanced.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with creamy head. Orangey yeasty aroma. Sugary sweet with soft mouthfeel. Malty and mild.

Bottle at Fionn MacCool’s. Kudos for the summer wheat beer promotion chain pub! Dark hazy yellow, small white head. Very fresh spicy, yeasty, malt aroma - nice. Strong spicy taste. Alcohol more pronounced as it warms - very tasty. A little watery in the body. A tasty strong beer - nice job!

Slightly cloudy golden bevvy. Nice foamy head, sweet floral, honey aromas. Alcoholic tasting, a bit bitter. Pleasant warming afterfeel, seems to grab the throat (in a good way!)

Definitely a hard hitting strong ale. I got real wasted off a few of these. Pours a nice hazy deep gold with a fluffy lasting white head. Aroma is fruity esters, yeasty, sugary sweet and spicy herbal phenols and hops, whereas the forbidden fruti has more esters and a more fruity flavor (plus it is a bit darker in color). Bready and yeasty flavors with clove and pepper spices. Nice smooth mouthfeel and alcohol hidden too well. You can almost smell the fusels in this though- wierd.

Bottle. Maybe too much alcohol for this kind of beer. Floral aroma, candy sugar, apple, citrus. I’ll try to get another one to have a better overview.

33 cl bottle. Super cloudy golden/orangy color. No head. Medium carbonation. Creamy taste. Alchool taste almost not present. Light banana taste and citrus flavors. I prefer this one to Hoegaarden white !!

slight spice to the aroma and ester elements to the aroma. Beer pours with a great golden amber colour and white head. The flavour of this beer is great, slight citrus and strong yeasty with some slightly bread flavours combine in to something great. There is certainly no lack of body and there is the distincitve Hoegaarden aftertaste present. Great stuff.
