3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2007 Pours cloudy orange/yellow with a whitish head that dissapeared a bit too quick. Nice fruity (banana & peach) and sweet wheat aroma but still with a bitterness and warm alcohol notes. Quite full flavored. Dry finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(bottle) Hazy orange colour with lasting frothy head. Yeasty nose with a hint of orange/fruity notes. Spicy, medium carbonated start with complex aromas in the aftertaste. Less alcoholic than I expected. Interesting but not for everyday use.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours cloudy pale peach with a big pillow of creamy white head that settles with some nice lacing. Very spicy and bright aroma, with cinnamon, musky cedar, clove, lemon, sort of a green-dandelion aroma, and a touch of bready-yeast. Mild yeasty bite up front , with tangy-citrus quality and soft malt. Quite light and refreshing for a beer this strong, while still maintaining a feeling of substance. Remarkably clean, dry finish. None of the rusty nail aftertaste I sometimes associate with this style. A very tasty Belgian Strong. Thanks AlaskanWarren for the bottle!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, Lokkedize, Brugge, Belgium. Appearance: Honey, cloudy, white head with tiny bubbles. Laces the glass thickly. Aroma: fruity, slightly bitter, wooden. Flavor: Sweet, tangy, belgian, fruity, melon. Palate: Full-bodies, great mouthfeel. Sweet but a clearing bitterness. Not quite what I expected from this beer, but that’s not bad. I expected something heavier, but with a grand cru, you never know.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a golden hue with a frothy white head. This is just like is little brother on steroids. Same Wit flavors and the same finish, just with a little more kick.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pale dull orange, a dead ringer for a deeply coloured wheat beer. A really nice, thin creamy head shows good retention. Fairly subtle nose with a little clove and spice.
Much bigger in the mouth with classic strong ale flavours more apparent. Quite mouthfilling, more spice and cloves, excellent fine beaded carbonation - ensures the beer never cloys. Alcohol never overpowers. This is a great example of the genre.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. The liquid is cloudy; the colour is beige-pink-orange. The foam is finger thick, white, firm and compact.
The smell got sour notes of spices, yeast and wheat.
The carbonation is strong with lots of small bubbles, making it feel like a soda. Very refreshing.
The taste is balanced, matured and sourish and fruity with notes of citric, apricots, wheat flour, bitter lemons, marzipan and caraway. I found no traces of alcohol at all. The aftertaste is relatively mild, sweet sour and balanced with notes of marzipan, bitter oranges and some alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours out a cloudy yellow color topped by a diminishing, fluffy white head. Slight fruitiness, orangey, yeasty aroma. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Initial flavor is what the aroma may lead you to, spicy yeast flavors and orange notes. The finish is quite alcoholic.
