The appearance is like unfiltered wildflower honey with a large cream head. Aroma is full of yeast, citrus and a little sweet. When you first pour in your glass and the head is melting it sounds like a bowl of rice krispies cereal. The flavors are very nice and complex ranging from sweet to peppery.

Dark clear ambery color with a steady thin white foam layer. The smell is sweet and slight lactic. The taste is incredibly heavy, Cristal sugar sweetness, slight licorice, lactic acidic taste. The aftertaste is round with sweet vanilla notes. This beer could easily have been stored in a sugary barrel. A bit too heavy though. A beer to finish an evening.

Troebel donker geel bier met schuim. Smaak is krachtig hoppig bitter, licht zoet en fruitig, citrus, banaan en vanille. Erg goed bier, smaak blijft lang hangen.

If you know your german brews this is a Weizenbock, a strong wheat beer, Witbier in Belgium. Very nice look, a bit cloudy dark gold, ephemerous head, nice taste of wheat sour alcohol and sweetness. Very Good beer, not Vitus (a weizenbock myth), but very good.

330ml bottle. Cloudy orange color. Tiny size, white head, stays. Slightly sour, fruity, banana, wheat and sweet notes in aroma. Faint citrus, metallic, fruity, faint banana, touch of yeast in taste. Thin and watery. It’s not sweet, but alcohol is very well hidden. Crisp body. Dry papery aftertaste.

Not Bad. The result was a strong wit with a good balance. Shades enough so not too interesting

Bottle at Drug Opera, Brussels. Pours cloudy orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is biscuit and honey malt, pear esters, light earthy hops and peppery alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, candi sugar, light hops and bitterness, pear esters, light earthy spices and a dry finish. Grand Cru is Hoegaarden’s masterpiece. But let’s try to keep things modest. It has a fantastic cloudy orange colour, an amazing fruity aroma and an unsurpassed complex sweet and bitter taste. The subtle spices and citrus notes are the cherry on top. There, that was subtle. Available exclusively in Belgium. Unique smell -8,5%

(Bottle) Hazy pale gold with good dense white head. Lovely aroma - bananas, citrus, hint of peppery spice. Medium bodied, smooth, creamy soft carbonation. Excellent taste - rich, complex without being heavy. There’s quite a lot of sweetness, and some nice light fruitiness (again banana and citrus) at the start. It warms up in the mid palate with the alcohol providing some bite - it’s well integrated. Peppery spice notes develop and there’s some reasonable bitterness in the finish. An excellent beer.
