ok hier weet ik dus helemaal niet meer van, alleen van het feit dat ik hem wel gedronken heb, etiket zat nl nog in de verzamel lijst... ga dus gewoon een average rating nemen, die weinig van invloed zal zijn op de scores...

Amber ale in the Hoegaarden range, commemorating a long-gone local beer and spiced in the same way as a witbier. Tasted years ago so from old notes: orangey blonde colour, thin, off-white head, caramelly flavour with some dried fruits and nuts, iron, coriander and dried orange peel, thin body and not much of a finish. Simply malty thirst-quencher but better than average - for an AB InBev beer, that is.

Amber colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Aroma of caramel and sweet fruit. Also coriander and citrus. Rather dry bitter finish. Ok.

came across this beer after searching for unrated beers, one of my first beers i had back in the day. still reminds me of a spiced beer of the coriander and orangepeel, combined with malts fruits, and overripe fruits

Thx! to Kraddel for the bottle. 25 cl. bottle @ home. BBF 21/03/2009 so 2007 Vintage? The last year of production? I have no idea as to when this was discontinued. This is definitely a beer that I never expected to get to try. Hougaerdse Das is a beer that has a long and illustrious history which probably has no relation with the contents inside the bottle since this stuff was made by InBev). Murky fox amber orange with only some white bubbles for a head. Nose is huge oxidation, candy sugar, big oxidation sweetness, musty cellar, spices, raw, slightly soured dough,… Taste is watery mixed with candy sugar, Madeira / wine big oxidation notes, bitter spices, raw sour dough, coriander, musty cellar notes, big old cellar and mineral finish, sparkling mineral water, old rotting lemons & apricots. Watery body. The thing with this beer is that by this point the huge oxidation notes have taken over most of this beer so it is getting hard to tell what this beer even used to be like. On the other hand this is probably more interesting to drink now than it was previously.
