UPDATED: MAY 10, 2013 Bottle 0,33ltr: Amber coloured brew with an slightly spicy taste and the hints are candy-like. Aftertaste kind of peppery and no bitternesh at all. I found in mine cellar an older Julius with expiration date 2002. So the beer is quite sweeter, taste of marzipan. Some burning on the tongue like cognac or saomething like that liquor. The colour is clear amber. But after the first zips of the taste i mentioned and the end is much weaker of taste.

Bouteille de 33 cl. Couleur dorée, léger trouble, mousse moyenne de tenue moyenne. Arômes légèrement fruités mais surtout épicés qui se terminent avec une pointe de réglisse. Carbonnation moyenne. Trouvée à l’ entrepôt - Courcelles les Lens.

On tap at the Cafe de Weerelt in Leuven, Belgium. Pours a hazed orange-gold colored body with an inch thick, dense, creamy and foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is fairly fruity with some yeasty esters and a nice bready malt sweetness. A light spiciness and grassy note as well. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened bready malts with a nice fruitiness, some esters, a light grass, and a balanced yeasty spice. Finishes clean and dry with a moderate bitterness as well as some fruits and a light malt sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a creamy, medium carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid beer. Clean, balanced, and pretty easy drinking for the size. Good one.

Tasted from bottle 4/22/13 in Aalter, Belgium. Poured hazy straw yellow with a white head. Aromas of hay, grass, spice, fruits and yeast. An OK beer.

Bottle from Bieresgourmet webshop. A long-gone classic revived; didn’t count on seeing this around anymore. Now all I’m praying for is the re-brewing of Alexander Rodenbach! ;-) Pours a clear golden body with a small white top. Aroma is rich floral yeasty sweet tones with honey and candi sugar notes. Taste is sweet floral tones with honey, candi sugars and grass. Hints of metal far in the back. Medium body and carbonation. Decent, but the metallic hints kinda pulls it down a bit.

Bottle@tasting (1999), 330ml. Head: lots of off-white foam. Colour: hazy, golden. Aroma: citrus, hops. Taste: bitter-sweet. Palate: mild, small bitter finish. Overall: nice.

nuts, grass, golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, soft carbonation, light soft bitter finish.

From bottle into signature glass. Hazy, burnt orange. Pretty good head that creates some terrain as it settles. Aroma is funky and estery leaning towards banana. Flavor pretty rich and malty, but only moderately detectable heat (at 8.5%). Palate drags a bit. Overall solid Belgian strong ale.

A cloudy tripel a beer with nice coulor and foam head. Fruity flavours and a low level of hoppy flavour. This beer is for Leffe lovers but has that typical Belgian triple style characteristics. ---Rated By the Belleketels

Aroma has light pepper, yeast. Flavour also has some citrusy tones. Smooth and slightly creamy. Warming alcohol.
