Orange pour with a white head. Strange skunked aroma, a bit of banana, and some fruity esters. Sweet bready malt, a bit of caramel, and some toffee. Mild alcohol flavor, a lot of banana, and some pear and apple esters. Light spice, tons of sweet malt, and a fair amount of sugar.

33cl bottle at home. Hazy dark orange with a medium white soapy head. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with some bitter tones. Yeast, banana, apricot, herbs and spices. A tad too sweet, but still a nice Belgian brew.

Bottle. Semi-clear amber body, medium head. Aroma has estery over-ripe bananas and some yeast. Sweet taste with more banana. Fruity finish with yeasty bananas. This beer is totally bananas! Isn’t it weird that an actual Belgian banana beer like "Mongozo Banana" gets a score of "4" while a more alcoholic beer that tastes like bananas with the help of other means gets a score of 73. People really like their ales to be boozy. Ratebeer consensus, you disappoint me again.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Haven’t had this for years, since Oddbins in Preston had the whole Hoegaarden range for some inexplicable reason! Deep amber colour, nice white head. Sweet example of a Belgian ale, boozy fruitiness, bit of yeast and barely enough spicy hop. Hint of pear drop esters. Ok, not my favourite thing, but very drinkable for a change.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is dark golden-blonde colored and pours a large white head, with livingly CO2. The aroma is a nice palate of herbs (coriander like), orange peels, bananas and wheat. Complex taste of citrus notes and some spicy bitterness in which the coriander is clearly noticable. The finish is long and medium bitter. Just as good as Hoegaarden grand cru. It is just what you like.

Fles. Oranje kleur met kleine schuimkraag, troebel. Fruitig gistaroma, sinaasappelschil, citrus, jonge kaas, cheddar. De smaak vangt zoet aan, sinaasappelsap, kaas. Wordt snel waterig. Bittere afdronk.

Bottle. A hazy, golden beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white head that lasts and leaves lacings. The aroma is sugary and peachy, with some yeasty hints, It’s full-bodied and quite effervescent, with some alcohol warmth. White sugar, peaches, pale malts and some yeast in the flavor. Decent bitterness too. Quite decent this one, but too much on the sweet side. 150314
