COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The story of the jam jars gave us an idea. Hoegaarden Rosée. It might be pink but it is very much a wheat beer. It also features the soft taste and subtle colour of raspberries. And while it doesn’t feature a higher alcohol percentage, it does mean you can enjoy it even more in the sun.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, unmalted wheat, fruits (10%), raspberry (6%), sugar, sweetener, hops, yeast.

Bought a bottle at the supermarket. Has a pink to orange color and a a small white head, not much bubbles. Aroma of coriander, raspberries and a little strawberry. Taste is medium sweet and fresh which changes in a light bitter and has a raspberry taste. Aftertaste is fruity and fresh which is very short. Just an average beer (or what you want to call it). Not my style but very fresh for a hot summer day. If I have to choose, give me the regular Hoegaarden.

Flavour is composed of pink sweet fruit, artificial, thin wheaty grains, artificial raspberry, light rubber. Palate is thin watery, highish carbonation, wheaty.

On tap at Pint Factory. I was surprised how much I liked this, very refreshing and easy to drink, not overly sweet.

pours a murky pinkish amber with a frothy white head and some lacing. aroma of raspberry jam, flavour of fruits, yeast, grass. not cloyingly sweet like some other raspberry-flavoured beers, but the artificial sweetener aftertaste is present.

250 ml bottle bought at 7-Eleven on Lock Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Cloudy, hazy dull rose red colour with a layer of dirt like yeast sediements; One quarter finger head with soapy off white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Good sticky lacing and zero carbonation; Fragrant aroma of light malt, with strong wheat, strong tartness, vegetable juice, light raspberry, coriander, light citrus peels, sugar and strong yeast; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with strong wheat, light tartness, light raspberry, assorted berry juice, very light sugar, yeast and thin lemon; Close to light body, slightly slick and juicy palate; Mouth feel is fair maltyness with fairly strong wheat in a slightly thick background. Low tartness, berry juice taste all around but pretty low-fi, so does the sweetness. Yeasty and light lemon to round. Quite alright… Hoppiness is citrus peels in nose, and very light lemon in taste. No bitterness, just light berry wheaty finish; Slightly dry after taste. Very easy and wheaty to mouth.

Comments: I was expecting something very sweet and fake, but it turns out quite the opposite: the basic Hoegaarden Wit base holds up well, and the infused raspberry and fruit juice are understated with very low sweetness. Not as Summer-like as it seems, but it’s agreeable and drinkable.

Piana biała średnio pęcherzykowa, szybko się redukuje i lekko zdobi szkło. Barwa przypomina mi sok z grejpfruta. Jest mocno zmętnione. Aromat bez niespodzianek. Maliny, lekka róża i gdzieś w tle aromat jasnych słodów. Dosyć wodniste i stosunkowo pijalne.

Bottle bought on clearance from Tesco (this should have been the required warning!). Bottle corked champagne style, opens with a good pop. Pours very fizzy and lively. Colour dusky pink, lively head. Aroma of candy floss and raspberry. Tastes just slightly of the base wheat, with overpowering cloying sweetness of berries and meringue.
