3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ruigo (275) - PORTUGAL - MAY 4, 2013
I was in need of refreshing and light beer, but with attitude. I liked the aroma that quickly draws one to a Belgian ale but with a light and not complex flavour. I wish all summer beers had this combination.

Bottle @ airport train from Antwerp to Brussels, courtesy of Kraddel, thanks man! :-) Poured into my empty plastic water bottle, it has a dark clear golden body and a medium white head. Nose is light malts, wheat, lemon and hints of lime. Surprisingly citric. Taste is citric coriander tones and wheat, with lemon, straw and light malty tones in the back. Medium to light body, moderate to high carbonation. A bit too much citrus for me, but a fair enough beer.

Nice aroma, but the rest leaves a bit to be desired. Taste is wet paper, honey, lemons, with abrupt and dry finish. SHould have known this was going to be disappointing

Milod banana nose. Pale head. Hazy pale golden color. Dry wheaty and yeasty taste. Some sourness and hints of banana. Not very special.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Douberd (620) - NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2013
Small 250ml bottle at home. Poured into a tumbler glass and as recommended on the bottle, first half pour, then twirl the bottle to mix the yeast in and pour the rest. ABV 5.7% on my bottle.
Pale yellow to orange colour on the body, very hazy as expected after pouring the yeast in it, one finger of white head, with low retention and no lacing on the glass. Very light activity in the glass.
Aroma of wheat, faint banana, some clove.
Very nice taste, lots of wheat, banana again and citrus.
Medium thick body, average carbonation.
Decent one, but I would prefer a normal Hoegaarden over this.

25cl bottle from Beers Of Europe.22nd march.Cloudy yellow pour with a medium white head which collapsed quite quickly.Aromas of lemon, orange and apple which also all came through in the taste.Light taste of yeast also in the mix with a few other fruit flavours too.Reasonably tasty easy drinker but thats about it.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hawthorne00 (1855) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle 6C. A little darker than normal Hoegaarden. Bready aroma with lemon and spices. Sweeter than it too, with much more of a bready yeast character. Some apricot and banana. Very soft mouthfeel. Spices are there at the fairly crisp end. Bit of bitterness there too. A bit more going on than the regular version but at slight cost to the refreshment angle. Pretty good and hit the spot on a 40C day.

Bottle shared with McTapps. In that case this one ist just another Hoegaarden. Yeast in dominance, nice cloudy colour and that´s it. Still a quality beer but no burner.
