an amazing white beer, suble in aroma and extremely tasty. A little less "flat" than your average white beer. Apparently only produced in winter time. Pretty much no aftertaste. No head. Very interesting beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Storm_Warning (21) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2012
I’m currently drinking this while I am typing. First off there is a slight lack of aroma in this beer, a bit of a yeast smell and a gentle banana note in there too. The beer has a nice gold coloured unfiltered look but for me there was a sufficient lack of a good head, it produced a small one but dissipated fast. The taste is what you would expect from a Hoegaarden witbier, wheaty, a bit yeastier and a bit spicier during the aftertaste. Incredibly refreshing and drinkable none the less! Nice feel on the tongue and throughout the mouth but like I said before, the lack of a quality head leaves you without a tickle of foam on the top lip.
Overall I can’t complain for the price I paid, definitely enjoyable and definitely worth a try!

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2012
Bottle:
Medium to bigger vast white head on top of a hazy darker yellow colored beer.
Smell wheat, glue, orange, lemon, yeast, malts.
Taste nasty bitter, nasty malts, glue, some hops and herbs, light yeasty with a light fruity touch. Not really out of balance, but doesn’t seem to be well bodied either. Missing some bite and the glue seems to be irritatingly present!
Aftertaste is short and only seems to excists of wheat yeast and glue.
Medium carbo, tingly lively mouthfeel, lightly medium body and a watery texture.
I don’t know if it is better fresh, this beer isn’t that old but seems to have lost track of the real Hoegaarden.
