whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA May 18, 2006 Fine hazy pale gold with a receding snow white head. Aroma has abundant esters, specifically lots of banana, and smooth clove notes plus an unexpected hint of cocoa that I couldn’t shake. Medium sweet with big floral and banana esters plus some newspaper. Nice, interesting beer in all. Not quite in league with Hoegaarden White. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark May 9, 2006 Bottle, 5.7%. Very citric orange peel aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Big, stable white head. Spicy flavour, a lot of clove, turning orange-flavoured. Semi-high bitterness for a witbier. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Apr 3, 2006 Thanks to Hopdog for sharing. Pours a very weird pale yellow, almost peach colored with a moderate haze and thin head. Reminded me of the appearance of a berliner weise. Lots of yeast all around, lemony spices, lots of coriander in the aroma as well as in the flavor. Somewhat salty flavor which was unexpected, more citrus, lots of bready wheat malt, and a nice slightly tart finish. Pretty good for a wit. weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 31, 2006 Big thanks to hopdog for this…
Appears a hazy light gold with a small white film and collar that slowly fades.
Smell is of wheat, yeast, and coriander.
Taste is of the same aromas…perhaps a slight step back though.
Mouthfeel is watery with mild yeast and corn syrup blending around in the mix.
