a mes rate: this is more like what hoegaarden should be. im not a huge fan of white beers although it was hoegaarden that got me started. speciale is a good title for it. much better than the regular hoe. very very similar but a touch more spicy, much more creamy with a superior palate and just a little something special that i can quite put my finger on. maybe its the cream and vanilla finish that makes it. a touch watery though. i wish i had a standard version to judge this against. thanks to ang for the sample

Light yellow color, cloudy appearance. Nice medium white head. Some orange in aroma with spices. Soft palate. Spices and some fruity orange flavor comes up, spices (corianter) last. Thin bodied, somehow watery beer.

Tap. Sourdough aroma. Pale yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet banana and yeasty malt flavor. Medium body. More flavorful than their main beer. One of the best witbiers I’ve had.

Pours a cloudy lemon with a long lasting white head. Aroma of citrus, some spice, quite yeasty. Bit of vanilla there too. Sweet citric taste, with some vanilla and spice notes. Slightly tart in the finish. Refreshing and interesting!

Poured hazy golden orange with a thin bright white head...smell is very citrus, yeast, and some corriander...tastes very sweet...not nearly as spicy as the White...sweet citrus with spice only detected near the finish...good though...

Citrusy wheaty aroma, Belgian yeasties and a bit of peppery spice. Fruity. Cloudy amber with foamy white lacing head. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Some carbonic burn. Starts yeasty and wheaty, with sweet citrus and esters. Mild carbonic acidity. Finish is horseblanket and lemony, with light bitterness. After is light bitter citrus, with some chalkly astringence. Decent little wit.

This beer has a hazy, warm yellow, orange-golden color. This beer makes a very creamy head and has a outspoken accent of coriander in the nose and citrus zest. The taste is creamy and soft with a nice hint of nuts, coriander and citrus.
