this is more like what hoegaarden should be. im not a huge fan of white beers although it was hoegaarden that got me started. speciale is a good title for it. much better than the regular hoe. very very similar but a touch more spicy, much more creamy with a superior palate and just a little something special that i can quite put my finger on. maybe its the cream and vanilla finish that makes it. a touch watery though. i wish i had a standard version to judge this against. thanks to ang for the sample Jukkabro (3008), Tampere, Finland

Cloudy amber with foamy white lacing head. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Some carbonic burn. Starts yeasty and wheaty, with sweet citrus and esters. Mild carbonic acidity. This beer makes a very creamy head and has a outspoken accent of coriander in the nose and citrus zest. The taste is creamy and soft with a nice hint of nuts, coriander and citrus.
