250 ml bottle. Pours cloudy yellow-orange with short-lived medium white head. Strong artificial apple aroma. Tastes wheaty with notes of fruitiness. Mild finish.

Bottle at home. Pours a cloudy grey-yellow colour with an off-white head. Not much aroma, the grain does come through slightly. Taste is a little sweet but has a balancing dryness. It has more flavour than some wheat beers, but the finish is short. I wouldn’t say this was refreshing exactly, but it’s not bad all the same.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Opaque amber, medium white foam head which dissipates to thin at edges. Nose is fragrant, fruity, coriander, lemon, lemon peel, a lot of wheat cereal grain, toasty grain, slight grass, lemon creamy. Taste is fragrant, floral, lemon, wheat and barley grain, coriander. It’s a decent wittier. Not a huge amount of finish on it though.

Pours a cloudy pale colour. Taste is similar to normal Hoegaarden. Don’t see how this is special

250cc bottle. An hoegaarden with some interesting flavours in it. A bit citrusy. It is fizzy. Nice wheat beer.

Alengrin (2939) - BELGIUM - JAN 19, 2015
Winter version of the classic Hoegaarden Witbier, with crystal malt. Hazy peach blonde colour, off-white, creamy head; aroma of honey, pineapple slices in syrup, powder sugar, caramel, nuts, bread. Sweet and smooth in the mouth with spicy notes, relatively ’genuine’ for an AB InBev beer, but too sugary, with low hop bitterness in the finish. Simple winter beer, not too convincing, but acceptable.

* Old rating, best before 04/10/10. Mild-fruchtiges Witbier. Milde Hefe, keine Herbe und die typischen Witbier-Aromen harmonieren gut. Schönes Bier!

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with a huge white head. Lively carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of lime and straw. Flavour of pale malt, lemon and salt. Thin body with a watery texture. Fizzy. Crisp, nice.
