Pours a cloudy amberish brown with a huge off-white head and a sweet malty and spicey aroma. Flavor is complex sweet, fruits, caramel and spices softly biting my tongue. A long and interesting finish. Far better than I expected edblandon (3), El Salvador does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2007 Cloudy brown color containing yeast sedimentation. Pours into a cloudy (bottle conditioned), golden brown color. Great balance between malt and fruit flavor. 8.5% alcohol goes unnoticed, really, really nice. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Cloudy amber body. Slowly diminishing off-white/light beige head. Sporadic stringy lacing. Belgian yeast that springs from the vessel is fruity and only mildly peppery. Coriander, lightly toasted grains, mild to moderate alcohol, tangerine peel, grassiness(Saaz), banana, apple and potpourri spice are all noted. The flavor is mildly spicy, with low but slowly growing acidity, medium sweetness, mild astringency, low to mild bitterness and combines to present an underwhelming though very pleasing flavor. The taste bounces back and forth from sweet to lightly tart but never settles on any balance in the center. The finish is lightly dry, candi sugar and fruit lingering. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, softly but adequately carbonated and tangy. Alcohol is modestly concealed throughout. Easy drinking, well made. Beerlando (2321), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Coutresy boboski. Dense, cloudy, dark reddish brown body. Frothy off-white head that settles to a compact blanket of foam. The aroma shows fresh caramel, light, vinous fruit, clove, and faint bananas. Flavor is again caramel based, with a spicy yeast profile. Fruit flavors range from soft and sweet banana parfait to tart and vinous white grapes. There are some very interesting contrasts in this brew. Medium body. Goes down smooth. Moderately spicy, dry finish. Very drinkable at nearly 9%. Not outstanding, but very solid. mike1977ok (637), Netherlands

Spicy aroma with some yeast and malt. At first it’s sharp and spicy. Then some sweeter tones of caramel and malt come through. Finish is peppery and a bit dry. yespr (12105), Copenhagen O, Denmark
