Forget to add this from about a year ago. From BelgiumShop. Beer is reddish brown with a nice sour cherry aroma. Flavour is tart with lots of dry cherries and plum flavour. Finishes with a slight sweetness but otherwise dry. A good ale.

Bottle. Very dark red with an average beige head. Malt, a bit of caramel and a bit of alcohol in the nose. Flavor is sweet malt, spices, a bit of dry fruits, and alcohol. A medium body. Not interesting enough both in flavor and aroma.

Bottled. A nice, rich reddish brown color with haze. A medium head with reddish tones. A rich mouth feel without being overwhelming. Nice fruits, caramels, and an earthiness in the flavor. Smooth finish.

Bottle. Hazy brown colour with a nice off-white head. Caramel aroma, fruity and spiced. Great deep dark fruity, spiced flavour. Sweetish finish.

A dark chocolate brown coloured beer with a thickish white head. A spicy, fruity aroma, peppery, cinnamon, with apple, plum and raisins. The taste is slightly sour, and a little yeasty, but with a wonderful rounded fruit flavour coming from the aroma, dark ripe fruits and the spice again. This time cinnamon and pepper are joined by a cough candy clove-like flavour that lasts into the finish. (Bottle - courtesy of Mark & Marie @ The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk).

Less enjoyable than other Hoegaarden offerings, but not detestable in any sense. Somewhat catty and overly yeasty (in 2002). Malt did not seem to balance the competing flavors well.

Dark brown beer with a fluffy beige foam. The aroma is very malty with interesting burned touches, a ferm maltyness and a round fruityness with hints of spices. The taste is rich and round, there is a tastefull bitterness and a good dosis of dry fruits and sweet spices.
