| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Cloudy and dark reddish-amber colour with a fairly thick and foamy off-white head. Very complex and rich aroma of fruits, sweet malts, yeast and bread. Flavors are also mainly fruity, with some hoppy bitterness perfectly balanced with a touch of alcohol. Rich mouthfeel and full-bodied, with a nice clean and dry finish. A great example of a belgiam ale and one of my favorites. An excelent beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Deep red muddy body. Sourish hints of cherryish or raspberryish fruit in the nose. Caramel suds and clumps. Red wine creaminess and mysterious Belgian wood. Sweet, but with just the right balancing sourness. Drinking itself straight into my Belgian top ten. Chimay Red is the nearest comparison, but this is a far tastier brew. Dedollewaitor (3709), Odense, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Unclear amber with fine white head. Aroma of yeast & fruits. Sweet taste, again fruity. Okay body with a medium carbonation. Pleasant Bitter finish! Fine alternative to the regular Hoegaarden! Skidds (252), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 7, 2006 Medium offwhite head over hazy deep, dark brown body. Harmonic sweet, hoppy, bready aroma with notes of wood, milk, and soft roastiness. Taste is hoppy, sweet wood, faintly watery, with some fruitiness, and roastiness. Yeasty notes. Some alcohol heat. Bitter, wooden finish. A very good beer! (0.3l bottle.) DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2006 33cl bottle. Dark reddish-amber color with a fairly thick and foamy off-white head. Aroma of fresh apples, pears, yeast, sweet malts, candi sugar, and some light spiciness. Flavors were similarly fruity, with some added elements of dried fruits (raisins, cherries), some bitterness, and a nice warming touch of alcohol--pretty well-balanced. Mouthfeel was rich and full-bodied, with a nice clean and dry finish. A true gem from Hoegaarden. Borup (1360), Albertslund, Denmark
