COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Verboden Vrucht (Forbidden Fruit) is one of a kind. It is traditionally brewed with a mysterious blend of dark malts and flavored with spices. It underwent a slow second fermentation in the bottle so it matures into a delicious tasting beer with a complex flavor and a wonderful flavor balance between sweet and dry. Keep up this beer in a dark place and pour it at 5-6°C. Flavored with spices.

33cL bottle. Home. Hazy brown (orange note) beer with a short life medium white head. Few bubbles. Aroma of spices, light caramel, citrus note, coriander, honey (but no apple !). First taste sweet. A warming beer with some bitter background (I guess this is God warning). Nice body. Good carbonation. A good belgian strong ale. If there was an apple note, I would have find this even better :)

Pours red/brown. Nose of orange blossom/orange marmalade with a yeasty kicker. Very sweet straight up, fruits, strawberries but with added sugar. It attempts to get bitter on the finish but just does not make it. Not for me.

Prima bier, beetje fruitig, mooi bitter/zuur balans, goede hoeveelheid koolzuur, neutrale nasmaak. Zeker de moeite waard. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly cloudy light brown amber pour with a massive head. Wet dog malty smell with some caramel and yeasts. Also a bit sugar toffee like. Pretty sugary first taste. Then the malts appear real nice but the bitter stays hidden. Medium mouthfeel with balanced Co2. Nice belgian but nothing to go crazy over.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2014 Strong apricot, apple, pear, clove and pepper. Nice and funky, with some tartness. Drank a few days ago, don’t remember much more.
