The beer has an amber claret orange color hue and a nice rocky head. the nose sweet fruitness spicy, in the aroma with orange, fig and spicy coriander, that follows through a round malty- spicied fruity acidic palate of orange acidity, sweet brown sugar and coriander with in a medium body. I love this beer!

Bottle. This beer states that it is the original forbidden fruit. Pours to a hazy dark appearance with a medium head which quickly disappears. Quite spritzy and some spicy notes but distinctly mediocre.

Bottle. The colour is brown with a tint of red; the liquid is cloudy. The finger-thick head is quite compact and beige.

The smell is rather weak with some alcohol, yeast and that sour wheat-beer touch.

The carbonation is really strong with small bubbles that build lots of foam in the mouth.

The taste is fruity with a quite weak body, the bitterness is potent but there are also some funny metallic flavours. The aftertaste is sourish – bitter with a salt touch of broth.

To be frank, this beer was a disappointment to me; it turned out to be just an almost average Belgian dark strong ale.

After all that buildup, and hearing it could not be found in the States, I finally tried it in Hackney, London. And my opinion? Meh. Not as fruity, nor as rich and complex as I’d hoped. Kind of a mediocre Belgian Ale, I’d say- kind of on par with a Maredsous.

This dark amber beer pours with a modest tan head, eliciting a light fruity aroma. The malty flavor is enhanced with several spices, most noteably coriander. A good brew.
