Fruity, malty nose with dried fruit, caramel and spices. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, prunes, caramel, spices and hints of chocolate. Slightly spicy finish with balanced sweetness. Fairly well balanced. Hardly impressive, but decent for a mass produced InBev beer. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Bottle from that beer shop in Leek, don’t know the name of it but it’s a tiny town so you couldn’t miss it. Dark reddish brown with a slight purple tint, thin cream head. Can’t smell as my nose is fucked as usual. I found this quite hard to rate with one, quite a lot going on in there. Or what is in there is well hidden and mixed. No real wow factor but I liked it. Wynne (22), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2009 I found this beer far more interesting than regular Hoegaarden--I was very surprised by the taste, which was not bland, like I find the reg. to be. Slight fruit tangs as you’d expect; maybe a bit of orange and dark dried fruit. There’s a mild, pleasant naughtiness about this beer which is hard to describe, but makes the name fit completely. kiwibt (51), , New Zealand

Light reddy, brown with compact large head.
Cherry, rasberry flavour with a slight lactic backgound balanced with a caramalt malt profile?. Carbonation is high, this and the acidity balance out malt and almost hide the 8.5% alcohol..
A well balanced beer, very interesting and very easy to drink.
I woul like to try this from bottling to end of BB to see now it evolves over time. swoopjones (1900), Buffalo, New York, USA

Aromas of dried fruits & light tartness. Flavor follows up the aroma with some ripe grapes & winey features. Kind of boozy but overall a decent beer nutpea (15), , Scotland

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Nice label. Dark brew with scant white head. Taste of alcohol and dark fruit. Caramel flavour, malty finish. TheJollyOne (204), Kofu, Japan
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Dark caramel body with a tan head and chunky bits of sediment. Smell of sweet sugar and toffee, not overly complex. Sweet toffee again on the tongue, burnt coffee as well, but both are the victim of a strong taste of alcohol. Oily on the palate, quick to finish. Hmmmm an unbalanced beer in my opinion.
