COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Verboden Vrucht (Forbidden Fruit) is one of a kind. It is traditionally brewed with a mysterious blend of dark malts and flavored with spices. It underwent a slow second fermentation in the bottle so it matures into a delicious tasting beer with a complex flavor and a wonderful flavor balance between sweet and dry. Keep up this beer in a dark place and pour it at 5-6C. Flavored with spices.

Strong spicy ale, deep brown color, persistent and rich foam, one of the best products of de Kluis Brouwerij

Troebel bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is kruidig en zoet, kaneel, fruit, banaan en kruidnagel. Erg lekker, zeker tijdens koudere momenten. En van mijn favorieten, smaak blijft helaas niet echt lang hangen.

Cloudy caramel-brown with thick foamy beige head and lots of lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast and esters, nutty toffee floral malt, spice, booze. Tastes of spiced malt, fruit (plenty of citrus), yeast. Body has lots of fizzy carbonation, very smooth. Lightness of palate and fruit complements the Belgian yeast and spice nicely. Booze well hidden. Surprisingly drinkable and light given how yeasty, spicy and fruity this is.

Cloudy, deep amber body with a beige head that sticks to the glass. Very strong aroma of delicious Belgian yeast, spices and fruits, and weaker notes of caramel and vanilla. The flavour is unfortunately a bit too dominated by alcohol, but there are also pleasant notes of Belgian yeast, spices and dark dried fruits on a caramel background. Moderate sweet and moderate bitter taste. Mid-bodied, dry and with a moderate carbonation. Very nice, but would have been even better with less obvious alcohol.

330ml bottle. Murky brown color. Thin white head, disappears. Sweet, caramel, malty, slightly sour notes in aroma. Caramel, sweet, malty, slightly fruity, bit papery, touch of dead yeast in taste. Soft carbonation.

Bottle 33cl offered by Wouter, @ home. Quite unique, half-way between a Belgian tripel, a German weissbier, a fruity beer and a spontaneous fermentation beer somehow. A good mix overall.

Bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn. BB Feb 2016. Translucent amber with bits floating around. The foam rises out the bottle after opening, but as Ive poured it forms a disappointingly fast-dropping head. Lacing ok. Nose is sugary sweet, caramel and lemonade, wheat, fruity yeast and coriander-like spiciness and alcoholic warmth. Gets grainy as it warms. Taste is sweet of caramel and peaches, raisins, wheat, dough, and only a bit of coriander and clove spiciness, plus alcoholic warmth and minimum bitterness in the finish. Body medium, carbonation soft but quite active - I feel it from the first sip until late in the finish. Overall? Its good. Did not expect that of an InBev.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2015 Hoegaarden De Verboden Vrucht, uitgeschonken in origineel Verboden Vrucht glas.
