COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Verboden Vrucht (Forbidden Fruit) is one of a kind. It is traditionally brewed with a mysterious blend of dark malts and flavored with spices. It underwent a slow second fermentation in the bottle so it matures into a delicious tasting beer with a complex flavor and a wonderful flavor balance between sweet and dry. Keep up this beer in a dark place and pour it at 5-6°C. Flavored with spices.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2014 Hazy brown amber with thin head. Lots of spices, red berries and yeast. Medium finish with the sweet and sour of the berries but not too fruity, some alcohol and yeast. Interesting

Bottle at Rootz at the Harbour, Den Haag. Poured a hazy dark amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeast, light fruit. The flavour is medium sweet with a big yeast, malt, fruit, alcoholic liqourice, light spice palate. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. A big alcoholic sweetie from Belgium. Fully deserving of its high rating.

A slightly hazy brown body with a nice tan head. Nose is sweet and mellow with raisins, caramel and sherry. Taste is sweet and smooth, with a mild dryness on the finish. Carbonation is soft and the mouthfeel is quite rich. Very nice.

Flaske, 33 cl. Grumset ravfravet med stabilt off white skum. Dufter voldsomt af gær og sødt brød. Tørret abrokos. Klistret konsistens. Stor, men sød og intens smag af lyse, tørrede frugter og kryddrerier. Pap-agtige noter.

Bottle from Brune Rousse Houblon, Nice. Hazy reddish/brown with a firm head. Sweetish with malt, toffee, fruit and candy. Too sweet for me.

Too much carbonation but not bad for a belgian beer. I found the taste was quite balanced, not as sugared as delitium tremens and quite fruity.

0,3l Flasche. Rölich dunkles Bier. Angenehmer Duft nach vergorenen Früchten und Banane. Eine Geschmacksexplosion nach Früchten ist die Folge; etwas zuviel Alkohol im Geschmack.
