Pale straw, lemonade color with a huge creamy white head. Citrus, lemonade, and coriander notes. Light bodied with a high level of carbonation. Refreshing on a hot day.

Vade retro, Satana! Worse than this blanche, just Heineken’s Wieckse Witte.

So I feel I have to rate Hoegaarden today, in memory of Pierre Celis. He has done a lot of good for the Belgian beer world imho. Hoegaarden is pale straw coloured, almost milky, with a yeast and wheat haze. Strong fluffy white head. Nice yeasty aroma. Nose of citrus and coriander seeds. Taste bit sweet, typical wheat malts flavour. Fruity. Orange and coriander come out nicely. Fresh, typical Belgian white. Refreshing. Ideal for warm summer days. (From tap)

Draft from Ramshead Tavern (in Savage). Very light yellow, no head or aroma to speak of. Good light flavor, but very little to it; touch of malt and a hint of citrus. Would be great as a refreshing cold beer right after mowing the lawn.

Found another beer I’ve had several times and forgot to rate. So here goes. From a 12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy grayish-yellow with white head. The aroma is fairly herbal with notes of coriander, lemon balm, wild mint, sweet yeast bread, and grass. The flavor is slightly tart at first sip (very slightly), then fades quickly to a dull lemony sweetness. It has a bit of an herbal tea undertone to it. The finish is like chamomile, licorice, and orange with a little bit of crackery malt. Refreshing if nothing else.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Hazy lemonade yellow, thin bubbly white head. Aroma of orange peel and slight coriander. Medium carbonation. Taste is very light and sweet. I taste orange peel, coriander, spices and a touch of wheat. The finish is slightly tart. It’s yummy. It was worth the $9 for a 6 pack. I would buy again!

Pours cloudy amber with a foaming white head. Looks pretty refreshing. Aroma is orangey, lemon citrous. taste is spicy coriander, orange peel, lemon zest and a creaminess. Palate is refreshing and it’s medium bodied in the mouth. Still one of the best whitbiers.

The worst beer I had drunk in my life! Has a strange smell, a medicine taste and who sad that you could put coriander seeds in a beer?
