4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 mbalmer (16) - Michigan, USA - FEB 7, 2011
Purchased as a single to try.
AROMA: Nice clean citrus-y scent, with some lemon, orange, and a little bit of clove thrown in. Very pleasant, very clean.
APPEARANCE: Hazy golden pour with a solid 2-finger head that dissipates quickly, leaving a little bit of lacing on the surface. Strangely opaque look - can’t see my fingers on the other side of the glass at all.
TASTE: Nice. Clean and straightforward. Flavors of orange, a little clove and vanilla, and a soft wheat background make for a wonderfully easy-drinking beer. Good stuff.
PALATE: A little astringent, and acidic. Really did a good job of clearing my palate without feeling like it had been stripped bare. Very smooth.
OVERALL: Odd that this stuff is made by a macro subsidiary, but it’s very good, and surprisingly affordable. I’d buy it again and drink it again. Nice stuff.

The perfect example of a Belgian Witbier. Great yeast/clove scent, with a rich silky mouthfeel due to the wheat. Great finish, and entirely enjoyable.
