Hoegaarden is a nice wheat beer. I really can't say that there's any one thing that stands out about it, I guess it's just not got the character that I would say makes it one of the great beers that I have tried.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2003 This beer deserves more praise than it gets, yes it's interbrew but this beer is a real gem. Easily the top of the style.

Opaque, cloudy yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Very pleasing to the eye! No lacing.
Sweet and sour comes through in the aroma. Lots of yeast and bread too. Coriander really comes out as the beer approaches room temperature.
Spicy and crisp at the start. Lots of coriander in the middle. With a nice tart and spicy finish. I love Belgian wheats!
Very highly carbonated like a sparkling wine. Could use a bit more in the body and mouthfeel but theflavors more than compensate. Classic beer.

Hoegaarden is (in the UK at least) VERY expensive, and although it is EXCELLENT it doesn't justify the typical price tag of £3 a pint.

The label is true to its contents: white cloudy color. Head a little to thick to my liking. Very carbonated, very spicy. Left a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Nothing exceptional.

Interesting beer. First time I had Hoegaarden, was amazed by the glass :) Thick head, strong citrus and spice aroma. Had a taste that is fairly polar - either you will really like this beer, or find it revolting. Fortunately, most like it. Orange and coriander are the dominant flavors. Much better draft than bottle, but I may have got a bad bottle. Avail at LCBO in Ontario.

Cloudy very pale, nice frothy lace. Citrus yeasty aroma. Flavor is smooth, yeasty, citrus, and spicy. The spicey coriander realy comes out as it warms and it is much beter. Finish is dry and spicy, quite nice.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2008 Billowing white cream; hazy, pale lemon hue. Fried bananas served with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon; oatmeal with stone fruits. Brief malts give to tangy acids; coating wheat lingers into a bright lemon zest finish. Well attenuated yet creamy; drying with fluffy carbonation.
Smooth and safe with tangy acids and intriguing spice.
33 cl bottle, best before 20/07/2009.
Pours very cloudy, pale yellow with an average frothy head. Smells very spicy to the point of exclusion of other smells. So it’s not much to see or smell. Tastes like yummy-refreshing wheaty-bananas. Very light feeling; watery, with very active carbonation. Finish is short and clean, a little more bitter than the start.

Very pale and very cloudy. Big foamy head. Rings of lace. Citrus/perfumy aroma. Very light and refreshing. Notes of perfume, citrus, and clove. Nice.
