UPDATED: OCT 8, 2005 Tasted in France - bottled. Pours a very opaque and pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pinneaple, apricots, chalk and dust. Smooth yet crisp and refreshing. The flavour is quite mild but it leaves a very distinct citrus aftertaste. Very enjoyable level of carbonation and nice lacing. Delightful to drink.

Hazy pale yellow with a fluffy thick white head and nice lacing. Yeasty citrus aroma. Sweet with spice and citrus flavors. Very light and lively with carbonation in the mouth, but it doesnt seem thin at all. Possibly the lightest and most refreshing beer I have ever had. Very smooth and easy drinking. Excellent in every respect, even the price!

Why am I rating a summer beer in the middle of the winter? Hoegaarden white is the beer that peaked my interest in Belgian Style Ales. This white beer is the beer is used as my standard for a long time. Rich in orange, coriander and vanilla, pours with a full white foamy head. Best enjoyed on a hot summer day.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2005 Hazy straw with a fluffy and yeasty off-white head and medium lacing. Citrus and malty aroma with plenty of yeast and maybe a touch of herbs. Very refreshing flavor with crisp citrus notes and vanilla smoothness. Malts all over the place in the flavor and finish. Not as interesting as most of the artisinal Belgian ales but surely a good choice if you’re looking for a classic Witbier.

Fizzy head that quickly recedes. Aroma is spicy and yeasty, a ton of orange peel in the flavor.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2007 The aroma is spicy and fruity with wheat and a hint of flowers. Smooth and not too bitter with a hint of citrus. This is a wheat lovers beer. Many other beers that are not bitter are also weak or watery but not this beer.

This is one of the most refreshing beers you can get. It’s hazy (unfiltered)with hints of coriander and citrus. Is a cheap good brew.

This beer is extrodinary. I have never had any thing quites like it. Very well balanced. Pours very pale and cloudy, with a thick white head that thins slowly. The aroma is pleasant, that of apples. It kind of reminds me of the smell of a cider. The flavor is delightful as well. Apples, citrus and spices are present. The spicy sweetness lingers in your mouth. This beer is very smooth and drinkable. This beer would be good all year round. It is refreshing enough to be enjoyed during the summer, but spicy enough to remind you of the holidays. Very good, Very delicious, try it!

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2008 This was a Christmas present. The head formed easily but dissapated. there was lacing down the glass. The color was a cloudy straw. The taste was yeasty with a hint of spice. It was not my type of beer. I like more hops. I rescored this wheat beer o March 9, 2008. It is too sweet with nohops. the orange flavors are just not me.
